This works great. The magnet holds tighter to the phone than to the metal surface you are attaching it to. Don't misunderstand, the gripping strength of the magnet is strong. It holds solidly and requires a good pull to get it off the equipment. I just mean that if you grab the phone alone, and pull, the magnet comes off with the phone. This is perfect in the gym as I want the magnet to stay with me. Seriously a good item that does its job!

I use this all the time to have my phone mounted to the squat rack and have all my fitness apps (like FitBod) with timers showing easily. It's also a good mount if you need to take any videos. Very sturdy and well built (all metal), and easily to maneuver/pivot to the angle you need. Magnet is strong enough to keep the phone mounted securely (via MagSafe), but not so strong that I can't take my phone off easily.

Sturdy construction, metal, with a nice rubber base which makes decent a good landscape-view kickstand. There are four magnets in the base to hold it to vertical surfaces--may benefit from upgrading it to 5 or possibly 6 magnets for an extra strong hold. Swivel ability is firm enough to hold the phone in any direction without sagging. The metal is a nice touch.

Seems to be sturdy. I don’t work out so mine isn’t for the gym. I got this for my tool box for instruction videos or music while I’m working on projects. The build to price point is great. Everyone expects this thing to last a lifetime in the comment section, it’s a $20 item expect it to break at some point… But for what u get for $20, worth it.

Phone holder: I bought this as a backup for the gym when my old one appeared to be wearing out (can’t find that brand anymore) but this one isn’t great so I just went back to my old one until I recently lost it. Now I’ve been forced to use this one. The suction is good on it and the phone stays on it which is why I’m giving it 3stars. The issue with it is that the phone is too heavy for it and slowly sinks down so if you are recording at all you end up with it pointing at the ground eventually. It’s just not conducive to good videoing. I will be searching high and low for my old one now or just buy a different new one.

The magnets are fine and work through the phone case BUT the weight of the phone is too much for the ball and socket mount and it always tips down till the edge of the phone is resting on the rack. Looking for a new option. EDIT - manufacturer reached out to me and said my original one was from a bad batch. They new one functions perfectly!

To be completely honest, this did not last past two weeks the back panel, which is a black piece that pokes into the stand holds four magnets together well that black piece fell out, and I had no idea, but I was looking at my dog and he was chewing the back of it, and I was pulling it from him Back realize that there was no glue holding anything in the back together so once I glued it back, it was fine but then the next week the magnet circle that attaches to your phone and then attaches itself to the stand no longer held up just fell right off and I was getting so comfortable with the idea of having this with me all the time. so moneywise I spent like $20 plus shipping. I don’t think it was worth it but if you find it for cheaper, but within two weeks, I stop using it because it just fell apart and I’m supposed to be using it to take pictures and videos of my day and the lives, any recommendations? Ps. I even tried putting the metal disk inside my case. It just wasn’t strong enough to hold my phone. ants was currently looking for the stand to take a picture of my problems. Can’t find it so there’s no picture. Sorry you’re just gonna have to take my word or spend the money.
