Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant follows US Army Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Afghan interpreter Ahmed (Dar Salim). After an ambush, Ahmed goes to Herculean lengths to save Kinley’s life. Afghanen im Stich lassen?
Der Film ist sehr gut. Zwar ist der "body count" sehr hoch (in Kriegsfilmen freilich unvermeidlich), aber der Film hat eine Botschaft: Er macht klar, was ein BUND ist. Das Wort kommt zum Beispiel in "Bundes-republik" vor, ist auch ein wichtiger theologischer Begriff (das neue Testament = der neue Bund). Und jeder, der über Migranten aus Afghanistan redet und über "Remigration", der sollte den Film gesehen haben.
