well, it is great, I notice comment not folded steel if you take a flashlight and point it at a 45-degree angle the pattern will show up.. everything is good and tight no rattles. the only slight problem is with the pegs they are at an angle. I am not worried though I got this for home defense along with some other edged items. it is a very good buy.

Would get a 5 but saw the set for much cheaper through the companies website. Was going to order the matching Katana, but could have had the set for a lot less through same company directly. I'll be spending a little more on a much higher end Katana now.

This sword looks good in the images
This sword looks good in the images, and the other reviews seem solid. My sword came with the tang loose laterally (rattles side to side) in the handle which if used could result in the handle breaking. The guard was also a a bit loose, and the build quality was much cheaper for the price point when compared to my other 2 katanas. The main reason I bought this one is because the Damascus pattern. I have always wanted a Damascus pattern blade. The pattern wasn't acid etched either long enough or at all. This resulted in having virtually no pattern in the blade which was the main reason I purchased it. I don't know if I just got a bad one or if the other reviewers were just buying them for their children so they didn't care. By the way this isn't a product for a child it is very sharp.

Excellent sword!
Well worth the price. The tsuka-ito is tightly-wrapped, none of the fittings wobble, and the hamon is genuine with a visible hada. Same-gawa is also genuine. Product is exactly as advertised.

I like the Tsuba
I like the Tsuba, and Tight Ito and Rayskin they are very nice on this model but the Blade is very soft, loses edge quickly.
