Hi Tech Air Monitor, Great for someone with health concerns
I purchased the IQAIR monitor to track the air quality in my home and outside air as I often have the windows open throughout the day. After recent unforeseen fires in the area, I quickly realized how important air quality makes a difference in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I own a home purification system, so the IQAIR device is a very compact, efficient and easy to use system that helps me identify pollutants in the air while complementing the purifier. The two systems work hand in hand with one another. Using this system, I am able to track real time data of temperature, humidity and C02 levels. This system is perfect for anyone to use no matter what age because of its color-coded display. It let's you know if the air quality is good, okay and bad. Not to mention, the set-up process was easy to follow along. The device connects to your home wifi and the application can be downloaded directly to your smartphone. The app stores the data while collecting real-time information so that you can go back and reference to previous recordings. I am Looking forward to purchasing this device for family members and friends. I would recommend this device for anyone dealing with respiratory or chronic health issues as it is a proactive way of staying on top of the air quality you breathe, which directly affects your health outcome.

Good, expensive, and seems to have a mind of it's own
I didn't experience any wifi problems like some reported. It seems to work well. The screen seems to turn on randomly which seems like a waste of energy. I have it off and then sometimes I come in the room and it is back on. Maybe that is a feature? Overall happy with my purchase. It helps me know when to open a window. Turns out my indoor air was pretty good and that helped me narrow down what was ultimately the cause of some health problems we had in our household! So for that, I say it's a win.

Worked fine until it started returning 0 PM2.5 for indoor air quality forever, even when it was 300+
I got the unit, it seemed to work when I first got it, and after a while, I started displaying an indoor air quality that was perfect (0 PM2.5). I didn't pay attention to it too closely until we got some nearby fires and the air quality was actually 300+ (i.e. terrible and hazardous to breathe), but the unit still showed 0, perfect air. Tech support suggested cleaning the sensors, and once we established that the unit was indeed malfunctioning, because I only realized it wasn't working after the warranty was over, IQAir told me they wouldn't do anything to fix or replace it. So, it's a bad and unreliable product with a company that will not stand behind it. Shame, because it was otherwise beautiful with a nice interface, but that's worthless if it fails at the one job it has. The picture shows air quality from the internet and unit showing indoor pm2.5 of 0! You had one job.....

LOVE this monitor - better than others I've tried!
This is super-accurate for PM2.5 and CO2! Easy to use! I don't write a lot of reviews but I just had to. This is our 3rd since it was first released by the manufacturer (an excellent manufacturer of extremely high-end medical grade air filtration machines we have used for almost a decade). I used a different brand of air monitor before which was much harder to use and maybe a bit less accurate. It also connects to see a worldwide network of readings that I can see on a map and use to assess real time air quality in another neighborhood to decide to go there or not - great during the CA fire season when you have asthma! Downside is just that it does not measure some things: PM10, PM1 or smaller, VOCs, ozone. I generally find that under normal conditions PM2.5 gives me a general feel of the dust levels in the air, but of course some things can slip through that measurement size. Of all of those additional measurement abilities I'd most want a VOC meter added. The discontinued air monitor I used to use also had a VOC meter and I did find that useful. Sometimes I feel nauseous or get headaches due to high VOCs. Sometimes the CO2 also rises when the VOCs rise (because it's due to not enough ventilation/fresh air coming in), but not always. So being able to detect times of low CO2 but high VOCs was helpful for assessing the health of the indoor environment and changing things to lower the VOCs. I thought this was going to be a huge disadvantage, though, and it turns out to only be relevant in rare situations, because the CO2 almost always tracks with VOCs anyways, so CO2 serves as a proxy for VOCs just fine most of the time. Overall, I love this thing! Love it's clear display, accuracy, and simplicity! I keep it on all the time, usually without pairing it since the screen is so clear even from across a room that I don't need it on my phone to see what it's telling me about my current air quality.

PM1? PM10? Historical data?
product reviewed: IQAir AirVisual Pro Indoor Looking for tools to help resolve air quality issues, I called IQAir on 2 occasions inquiring about the device- once before purchase and once after. Both calls, I felt like they could have cared less. First phone call, I must have interrupted a lunch. They were very kind and polite, but I got the sense it was their first day on the job or back in the office post-pandemic. The agent told me "it displays hourly data and can go back 12 months". White lie. It can display UP TO 48 hours of hourly historical data, then daily data up to 30 days, then monthly data up to a year. If I am troubleshooting air quality, I certainly need more than 48 hours of historical data at my fingertips, especially if the device takes up to 3 days to calibrate the CO sensor. That's right, 3 days. Testing your air in place with no outlet? Better bring an extension cord because the internal battery last 4-5 hours. And that's with the display is OFF. Speaking of which, the screen will turn on full brightness when you plug in or unplug device, regardless if you configure the screen to be OFF. The website claims it detects PM1, PM2.5 and PM10... but the PM1 and PM10 data is not reported on the device, in the app or on the website/dashboard. One must be using a Windows 10 PC (Windows 11 PC does not work) to connect to the device's console and export a CSV file to see this data. Is the PM2.5 data accurate? Hard to say. Outside our home, my wife has very little problems breathing. Inside our home, she is a wreck. This monitor doesn't detect a dang thing. Four dogs in the house but the monitor reads "0" all day and all night. The only time it ever leaves "0" is when I vacuum in very near vacinity and the exhaust from poor excuse for vacuum blows the air around. The air outside is worse than what this monitor detects inside the house, but wife goes outside for relief. Is the hygrometer accurate? It reads 38% everywhere in the house, even though it's 20 below zero outside and everything we touch creates a static shock. My 50+ years on the planet says the humidity in the house is around 22%-25% in the winter, heating with natural gas. The design of the user interface is a freshman attempt at displaying current and historical data. It wastes screen space with 75% garbage... giant icons and irrelevent data. It wastes all my time with its 60s slideshow to show me the information I'm interested in, even though it could all be displayed on one single page/screen. It definitely wastes all of my patience using the device. I can forward thru the pages with buttons... let's talk buttons... they're on the top of the device, you can't see them. You must pick the device up and find the buttons to use them. The LCD screen should at a minimum have a header pointing to each button, like a PC monitor. A single page should show what all the sensors detected at a given time, but no- I must cycle thru each page... it's like the lead designer of this device was infatuated with having the user press buttons. I should be able to take a token look at the device, see everything is good, and leave. Like a thermometer or hygrometer. I don't spend 2-3 minutes checking out my hygrometer. I look, 33%, I move on. If I see something spiked or of concern, I should have to push buttons (and swipe, tap, etc. in app) only if I'm drilling into specifics. When I called IQAir post-purchase to find out how to get the device to function per the website, I must have been interrupting their private time. I have an idea- if you are working from home, try to pretend you're working in the office with your boss watching you, like how a truck driver is monitored in his cab. The agent wanted me gone, did not have any answers, and I had to do all heavy lifting to get them to mercifully forward me one of their internal knowledgebase articles. This company's primary objective is to sell gigantic enterprise-type solutions. The sub-$1000 products are an afterthought. The agents are employees as a commodity.

True and accurate representation of household environment
After having it for 24 hours I played with it this morning in bed because it has a long cord and there is a setting in there that is for the CO2 sensor and it was saying that the inside of my house where is basically full of smoke and unhealthy air and the little indicator wears a red face and I couldn’t understand it because I woke up feeling refreshed and so did the kitties so after playing with it I realize there’s a setting for a CO2 sensor that says if you just received this item which may have shipped and been banged around in a truck reset this setting only wants and it will re-calibrate my carbon dioxide are you acting as if you’re very weird go breathing in my area and close one bedroom apartment so after resetting it in a span reading truthfully now for about 15 hours and if we are comfortable and are 3 to 400 which is normal so all of the things are great I only bought this thing because after running numerous pepper and UBC filters throughout the house and one in Side A air handling for 30 million dog UVC bulb I purchased this for the cleanliness of the air Parrot a brand new, install, air conditioning system, which monitors the same thing with the ecobee wireless thermostat, professional grade, which also monitors VOCs and CO2 and they both concur. They are in agreement. That is why I bought it for a second opinion plus it’s connected to a worldwide sensor establishment that you get free outside air indications for where you are or where you may be heading. This thing is amazing. The AI confirms it that it is Swiss made to the highest standards including the VOC and CO2 Sensors. this is not some under $100 sensor that makes you feel good. This is a highly calibrated technical instrument that will tell you just how healthy your environment i.e. your home condo apartment van tent. It doesn’t matter. This thing will tell you if what your breathing is going to give you a healthy nights rest thank you for your attention to this matter.

I love that is shows both indoor and outdoor values
Well, I’ve had my IQAir AirVisual Pro for a few days now. And I just love it. It is mainly designed to be an indoor sensor, and that's how I'm using it. (You can actually use it outdoors, but then you don't get indoor readings.) You can monitor outdoor Air Quality by hooking it up to the internet. There are several local sensors that folks nearby me (just a couple of miles away) that are available, or there's the local Air District that is also just 2 miles away. All of these are available using the IQAir AirVisual App. The App is free, and you can monitor any number of Air Quality sensors worldwide that you want. I highly recommend the App just for those reasons. But where the Air Visual App really shines after you add the Air Visual Pro to the app. You can then monitor the outside Air Quality and inside air quality either on the app, or on the Air Visual Pro screen. It will tell you if the air quality is better inside or outside, and what actions to take, like open or shut windows, or don’t got outside, or outside activities are fine. The Air Visual Pro displays CO2 and PM2.5. It also shows the US AQI readings. China AQI is another option. The PM2.5 readings seem accurate, so I can use it to make decisions about closing up inside, and using air filters if needed. It’s really an amazing device. Also there is a significant Knowledge Base on the IQAir website that gives out a lot of extra information about the Air Visual Pro. The one drawback, is that it costs a bit, $269, but part of that cost is that is has its own screen. Having it's own screen makes it more usable, you can just look to see how the Air Quality is both inside and outside, and get the direct recommendations right one the device. It's a five star winner.

Buono Ma Oltrepassato

Battery performance
Displays a lot of very good information but the battery performance is very poor, hence the reason for three stars

Just what I needed.
I’ve been getting worried about the increase in vehicle traffic on the major roads near my house and also on my own street. I have noticed when I step out front, or back, I get a blast of car exhaust blowing toward me. There are many renters in one house, with several cars, usually idling, plus Ubers and deliveries. I have Dyson products in my house but I was concerned (more for my dogs!) that when they are outside, they are not inhaling all this pm 2.5! My government-air-quality station is a few kilometres from me and, sure, general AQ is nice to know, but where I am actually located can have much different AQ than that station obviously. What’s nice about this is I can put it on my deck while I am outside and see what the pm 2.5 levels are, and as soon as I bring it inside the pm 2.5 returns to zero again. I have tested this against my Dyson with the door open and it’s accurate. In fact IQAir was the most accurate in a comparison of consumer-grade AQ monitors, and for the price was surprisingly close to the accuracy of government monitors (within 5% I think). Anyway, I use this inside the house, and I have AQ OUTDOOR for permanent measurements outside (mounted on a front-yard tree) which I love even more. That one lets me know when is the best time to go outside. It’s so interesting seeing what the trends are, and how meteorological conditions and wind improve or worsen AQ. Both modules have continuous monitoring or by the hour. The app is great and instantaneous. Both store historical data which you can share on the iq air map. I’m really happy with IQair and my third product will be the Atem for the car. If I can afford another AQ Outdoor for the deck I will get one. (You don’t want to open your windows when AQ is bad, and your nose can’t always tell). Where I live it’s just cars and cars and I want to be conscious of having clean air for my pups to enjoy, and it benefits me too.
