From 430-450MHz they are excellent. Quick drop after 430MHz to a 1.1 if that. Performed terrible below 430MHz. I calibrated after every frequency change. Gmrs was from 1.65 to 2.25. Advertisement says up to 20W but mine started acting funny between 9-10W

These are, as advertised, 400-470 MHz stubby antennas. The SWR plot looks good over that UHF range. I also measured these antennas on the 2 meter band and they are not anywhere close to a 2 m antenna, nor are they advertised to be. I think their best application would be on the 70 cm band, with the radio set to output the minimum required power for very short range communications, either around camp or between vehicles when traveling on the highway or off road. In the UHF band, these are broad banded antennas, because stubby antennas are not very efficient. They have a low SWR over a fairly wide frequency range because these antennas have a low Q and are not very efficient at radiating at any frequency, but that will allow these antennas to be used on other bands adjacent to the amateur 70 cm band, but don't expect these to radiate efficiently and reach distant repeaters. These are short range UHF antennas, trading performance to have a small low drag antenna that allows a small HT such as the UV-5R Mini to easily stow in a coat pocket.

Outstanding performance. Price doesn't matter, although they are a bargain, as these things perform as well as the stock antennas.

Significantly reduces the overall effective transmit/receive range, however this antenna is great for indoor warehouse work, outdoor construction. The short antenna does not catch on wires, clothing or dig into the wearers ribs or side while working.

Ordered these for replacing the longer attenaes for snow skiing to make it easier to wear attached to back pack straps. However the range and reception was weaker than we expected. We have went back to the original longer ones that came with the units.

These stubby antennas get hot, and I do mean hot. I burnt my fingers and arm touching the antenna. I know antennas get warm when used, but it should never be to the point that it burns your fingers. The plastic covering actually smells like it's melting.
