Portable Spot Cleaner Machine for Carpet and Upholstery

I bought this mainly to tackle dog urine spots on our carpet, and I was honestly impressed with how well it worked. The unit is lightweight and compact, which makes it easy to carry around the house and store when it’s not in use. Setup was simple, and I appreciated that it came with a small bottle of cleaning solution so I could start using it right away. The hose is long enough to comfortably reach problem areas without dragging the whole machine around, and the suction is stronger than I expected for a cleaner this size. What really stood out was how well it handled the stains. I sprayed the area, scrubbed lightly, and the machine pulled the dirty water right back out of the carpet, leaving it only slightly damp. I needed something to at least try to deal with the pet and human stains around my house. I can’t seem to change the pet/human behaviors but I can clean. The machine is lightweight and easy to manage and move around. It’s not too lightweight and stays upright through using. The hose is a good length. REALLY good suction. This is a tool I would definitely use for a general spill on a rug or furniture to reduce liquid. The reservoir for the cleaning solution is a little small. The Dirt Devil spot cleaning solution that comes with the cleaner smells good (light floral scent) and works well in the “regular cleaning” strength. I used nearly the full cleaning tank to do the arm/side of this couch. These were old stains on the couch and I’m very pleased with the results. The water is disgusting and this was just one go over leaving the cleaning solution on for 5 minutes. The suction is really good but the couch remained damp for a bit. Very pleased with this purchase.

I already have a stand-up carpet cleaner and a battery powered spot cleaner. The stand-up is too clunky for quick cleanups, and the batter powered unit is often under powered. This unit is powerful and handy. Light enough to carry around. Flexible enough to get into the places that I want cleaned. Receiving tank is very easy to clean, compared to several stand-up extractors and hand-held ones I've used. Main gripes (though these aren't any better with competing devices): - Would be so much better if battery powered, even if that made it heavier. - Too easy to tip over,.. that spills the dirty water container, which has a non-locking top. - Power cord storage is inadequate. It would be better with a short cord and a separate extension. Even better with a battery (but that's my #1 gripe) - Lacks tool storage. Where do you stash the tools so they don't drip all over your storage closet? - The hose flushing works great, but I still spill dirty water out of the tool-end frequently. - Really needs some kind of well-fitted, preferably plastic box to store it. I'm looking for a size-matched Stearlite or similar.

If you're looking for a one-liner, here it is: I want to spot-clean everything. Living with seven pets, messes are just a part of life. It's like pets aim their vomits or accidents at carpet or furniture.. any sort of fabric to soil rather than the nice and easy-to-clean wood flooring or tile. Having to use half a roll of paper towels, and a rag or two to clean the fabrics is frustrating, and made me dread even having pets indoors. Even though I have done it for years at this point, the final straw was when a dog decided the holiday tree was a superb spot to pee. It soiled the fake snow, the skirt, and the rug underneath. We tossed the snow and skirt because we couldn't really wash those. To clean the rug, I was again cleaning with paper towels, rags, laundry detergent, and carpet freshener. With this method, I did feel not feel the carpet was truly becoming clean. It made me feel gross about my home, even though I clean it in other ways every week. In comes deal days, where I found this spot cleaner advertised. I had been wanting one, and sure, I could have asked for it as a gift, but I really wanted it sooner. So I sprung on the deal and made the purchase. It arrived, and sat for a few days before suddenly a dog gets an upset stomach and vomits on - the rug. Yes, the same rug. I whip out this machine and read the instructions. I use a paper towel to pick up the solids, then added water and cleaner to the machine and chose a head for the hose (it comes with two heads). I turn it on and start cleaning. I spray the cleaner/water mix onto the rug and then start vacuuming it up. WOOOOOOOOW - was my internal thought the entire time. It was so awesome to see the grossness just disappear with ease. Since the heads are clear, you can see when the water starts to run clear and it assures you the spot is indeed clean! And since it is a vacuum, you can keep vacuuming until you see no more water flowing into it and you know you have gotten it all. The spot does stay a little damp after, but not nearly as bad as if you used just a rag and cleaner. The dog continued to have an upset stomach for a week, and even though I was walking him often, he had an accident on our bathroom rug. Again, not any of the tile of the entire other portion of our bathroom - just the small rug. In comes this tool again. Effortless. I do advise, make sure you remove the solids.. or.. the excess bits as best you can before using it. It's just overall healthier for the machine and makes it less disgusting to clean. The machine itself can be cleaned pretty easily. To clean the hose, just suck up clean water for a bit and then air to help dry it out. Take the tank out and head off the hose and run them with soap and water. Dry them before putting them back into the machine. That's it! Now I am prepared for any and all messes, and am telling myself not to 'spot clean' the entire house just because this machine is so fun to use.

This is a mighty little tool!!! It cleans thoroughly and quickly. It’s efficient and somewhat easy to use (I’m disabled, so it might be operator error). I have an ageing chihuahua who decided this winter was the perfect time to use the living room rug as her personal toilet. This made cleaning that as simple as I could imagine. It cleans up older stains as well with just a little extra effort. I also used just hot, as I could stand, water once the area turned clear water. The only cons I have is that the dirty tank fills up fast and if you have more than just a small area it takes a few empties to get it clean. The bottle of concentrate is very small. I’ve already ordered a big bottle and I’ve only used the machine today. It says it’s scented, but I can’t smell it, which is a plus for me, as I can be sensitive to smells.

Good portable cleaner! Cleans well. We had one that lasted for about a year after much use. We're on our second one now. Easy to use. Stores away easily. I do recommend.

This vacuum is replacing my Bissell wet vac for pets (Pro Heat) and the Dirt Devil is way better. It's a similar design but the DD fixed a lot of product flaws in the Bissell. The Bissell has a rigid hose so mine eventually got a tear. I looked the problem up online and found a lot of people had the same issue since the hose gets twisted so easily and eventually just cracks. The DD is lighter and smaller, so much easier to store. The water tank is also much smaller than the Bissell but that didn't bother me. Suction is about equal on both, but I appreciated that the DD came with an attachment that wasn't a brush (silicone spikes) because the brush is hard to clean and not ideal for certain stains. Also it was impossible to remove the attachments on the Bissell, but it was easy with the DD. The Bissell cleaning head and tank had so many angles on the inside that pet hair would build up but couldn't be cleaned out. The DD cleans easily and the hose cleaner is amazing. I never had any issues mentioned in the other reviews like leaking. The only thing that might be an inconvenience is the small tank size, but like I mentioned, that was no problem for me.

We have had a number of carpet cleaning machines over the years, both upright and portable. Each of them eventually succumbed to suction problems - difficult to clean the cleaning solution out after use. We ordered this unit based on reviews after our portable green machine packed it in. Very impressive. Light weight, simply to use, great suction and for the first time, a clean out port to ensure the solution is fully removed before storage. Brilliant! Highly recommend.
