This Works!
I bought this for my 85 year old mum, but in reality itโs extremely helpful to me! My mum is partially sighted and unable to walk without assistance. In order to transport her from the walker, to a wheelchair then to a car is a lot of hard work! Itโs especially hard on the back. This mobility aid is a back-saver! The โbritchesโ have a Velcro closure which makes getting the right size a non-issue. Itโs well made and quite sturdy with straps at the hip to help lift and transfer her from one position to another. We put the โbritchesโ over her pants and it helps tremendously!

Maybe great for some...
Seems to be a great product idea. However, our patient refused to try it. Wish I would've known before purchasing returns were not allowed.

Too big
I bought this in hopes that it would make things easier in transferring my mother. It does work but the straddle part is way too wide and it really could be a little smaller made. If you need a quick fix this is okay but I would spend extra money and get something that fits a little more secure.

Is a great product that fills a huge need
My mother recovered from a stroke but is weak on one side. Every time something happens to her, like hurting her hip or a kidney stone, she ends up in the hospital and gets very weak. She's been in physical therapy and they gave me a belt to help use when she needs help getting around. I honestly don't know what the point of that is. Using a belt? So when she falls I can damage her organs by picking her up with a belt around her waist? So I bought this to have SOMETHING I can grab on to in order to help lift her. I thought there might be a harness on the market or something. But there isn't anything. Grabbing under the arms is dangerous and I always manage to hurt my mother when I do that. Then I see these aides in the hospital, each grabbing her arm to hold her up. I wonder how many shoulders they've dislocated?? So I bought this because I'm strong enough I can lift her. But there's nothing I can grab on her that won't hurt her. The first time I used this my mother had fallen to the floor. Sometimes she's able to get up on her own, other times she's just too weak. So as she was lying on the floor, I was able to fasten the velcro straps and put the pants on her as she layed on the floor. It all fits around and doesn't need to slide on. Which is hugely helpful. Then I grabbed the "handle" on the back of the pants and was able to lift her to her knees. It's like picking up a kid by the back of the pants. I immediately asked her if this hurt because it was a lot of strength used to get her up. She said absolutely NO. So we counted to 3, and I grabbed the handle and pulled, and she got up on her legs. I didn't see any sores or signs of damage on her. The second time I used it, is very similar. She had fallen and I slid the pants on, then pulled her up. Granted not everyone is as strong as I am. But to be able to have something to grab in order to help an elderly or disabled person stand or move, is amazing. I'm surprised it's not used in hospitals or nursing homes. Those stupid belts are worthless. This was a great buy. I highly recommend for anyone helping someone that is disabled.

Very helpful but could be improved
No question, this transfer sling makes transfers safer and easier (well, compared to what I was doing previously). I would make three changes to the design, however. 1. Make the strip of Velcro on the rear straps longer which would improve the ability to adjust the size to the person. 2. Make the through-crotch portion narrower; as manufactured, it is unnecessarily and slightly uncomfortably wide. 3. Sew in a couple of lift straps on the rear portion but slightly to the side. As manufactured there is one strap at the very rear.... helpful but not optimal. Edit May 26, 2018: As manufactured, this sling will go around a 45" waist, far too large for my application. I have made two modifications which help mitigate the problem: Following my own recommendation #1 above, I sewed an additional 3" of loop material on at the rear ends of the rear straps. Now, this fits waist size of 39", better but still waaaaaaay too large. Next, I folded the front of the sling down one full turn and sewed it in place. This shortens the overall front to rear length of the sling by about 5" and helps keep the side straps out of the armpits of the person being lifted. These two changes make the sling significantly more usable on a smaller individual. In the larger picture, though, making a one-size-fits-none sling is a mistake. It would be far better, in my opinion, to offer at least two and maybe three sizes

Size of the article
I cannot use it because my husband has lost a lot of weight and it will not close small enough to fit more snuggly. You should have more than one size or change so that the dimensions can be adjusted smaller for a better fit.

Worked good for our needs
Bought for an elderly who will occasionally have a fall and since he is tall and heavier, it is hard for us to get him back up. These worked perfect, we put them on him and it gave us something to grip ahold of to help him back up.

Godsend. THANK YOU FOR THIS PRODUCT
Straddle part is intentionlly wide so it will not "cut in" to injury. This product is not a miracle, but has been a godsend. Far better that grabbing and straining someones arms or pulling on same. Makes transfer in vehicles possible and even helps to use to "pull" wearer to edge of seat to exit vehicle etc. Easy to put on and even if a little big...it is quite adjustable. by far BEST product we have found so far for this use. Also helps when helping someone to stand if you help them up by lifting them by "waist" or back of support. Very very glad to have this. Don't know what we would do without it now.
