Releaf® Neck Rest – Soft Neck Brace for Neck Pain and Support, Comfortable Neck Brace for Sleeping, Cervical Collar Neck Support Brace for Travel, Reading & Relaxation - Large, Jade

I now have four of these - One Jade/Black, one Black/Black and two Granite/Black. I bought my first one several years ago from an in-flight catalog; the other three are recent purchases from Amazon. I have had some neck problems since a traffic accident nearly 20 years ago, which have become worse over the last five years even with fusion of three vertebrae. The Caldera Releaf collar is Not A Medical Device, but they have given me more comfort than any of the medical device foam collars I have had over those years. It is an actual engineered product (not just a block of foam wrapped in scratchy fabric and approved by the regulatory agencies.) The Releaf collar is designed for sleeping primarily while seated or reclining, such as on an airplane flight. (That is why I bought that first one several years ago.) The collar is fairly stiff in the vertical direction, in order to support your head comfortably when sleeping in those positions. I works wonderfully for that purpose. I have found that it also provides comfort during activities such as driving, working at a desk, reading or similar activities. I have found that it is uncomfortable to wear when exercising or laboring (it gets very hot and sweaty) or while lying down (it presses on the side of my neck too much when I sleep on my side.) The hook-and-loop fastener has about five inches (127 mm) of range. Worn correctly, so you can slip two fingers between the collar and your neck, it should not restrict breathing PROVIDED you have the correct size. (For example, I wear a US 18-inch neck size dress shirt and a Medium is too tight for me.) I find this to be very comfortable when used as intended, much more comfortable than the medical device collars. It is also less bulky than the medical devices. I clean these in the normal cold or warm water laundry (no chlorine bleach, and With the hook-and-loop fastener closed!) and air-dry them. I highly recommend them for anyone who needs head support while flying or driving, and for certain other activities.

I got this neck rest to support my head between my cervical nerve ablations. I don't need a sturdy neck brace but I'm unable to hold my head up or even lay down without severe muscle spasms and headaches while waiting for my next procedure. This product has allowed me to sleep much better and to be able to sit up without ending up in agony after a few minutes. If I can survive these few weeks then I can keep putting off surgery so this is a huge win for me to find this neck rest. I was grateful for the other reviews insisting this works better than a soft cervical collar. I agree.

I needed a way to keep my mouth from dropping open in my sleep during cpap therapy. After trying several methods (chin straps didn’t work and mouth tape while effective makes me uncomfortable) I decided to try a cervical collar and this was recommended in a Reddit post I saw. This (size large) was a little too big, so I ordered a medium and it works perfectly at night by supporting me under the chin and keeping my mouth closed while I sleep. It doesn’t interfere at all with my cpap mask. Make sure to measure your neck circumference before choosing what size to get.

Had it. Lost it. Ordered another and they sent the wrong size. Regular instead of Large. Sigh. Ideally the regular should work, based on their sizing requirements, but I find it a little snug. Uncomfortably so. The Large is the better option for anyone who finds "turtle neck sweaters" suffocating and a plain pain in the neck. Literally. Other than that, the Releaf is actually very good for the "pain in the neck". I fly frequently and this little neck "pillow" has kept me pain free. It's easy to pack, supportive and will make you "look funny" .. But it's worth the looks you will get on the airplane. It truly does support the neck wonderfully. Recommend. Now if only I can find the larger size.

It's ok ,but it does not provide enough support for someone with a LONGER neck. I wish they had more sizing options. It is VERY comfortable and soft enough to take a nap in if you can handle the extra around your neck.

I love this neck rest! This fits great... I have a velcro extender which I put on here to give me more wearing options. I may make my own velcro extender. It wouldn't be difficult. The Quality looks excellent My little dog came up to me and I put it on him just to play with him. How useful this thing could be. It fit him perfectly. No matter what kind of coat or sweater I buy him to keep him warm outside, there's always that upper chest where he often does not get the coverage from the elements that I truly want. I have to order larger sweaters to get them to fit around his fluffy tummy and the necks are all open practically down to his little legs. He's only 25 pounds. I put this on like a collar. It covers the exposed chest and neck area around the sweater opening the collar... finally, outsmarted him. He can't get it or now his sweater off either...so he gets bored and moves on. This will keep his chest and neck area warm. He doesn't have an undercoat. He comes back in during his middle of the night run and is absolutely freezing to death. But no amount of explaining the benefit of a sweater gets thru to him. This does that trick. and I can whip it right off of him. Can't wait to try it on a long drive as my neck is the first thing to start aching. Bet this will keep my neck in a more comfortable position. Oh Wow...Just gotaa yell out from the back of the house to "order you one too." Can't put anything down for even a minute around here.. I

Sizing chart is not accurate and did not fit right.

I purchased this neck rest to try to control my chin tucking, which caused positional apnea while sleeping. I think the brace is well made and very comfortable to wear but it is not good at stopping the chin tucking. The foam is too soft and the stitching which creates the design of the brace allows the brace to fold over on itself. This folding allows the chin to tuck which in turn allows the apnea to take place. I gave it two stars because it does not work as a neck brace but as a neck rest it should work. So, if you are looking to use this in conjunction with CPAP therapy, I would suggest looking at another option.
