DEWALT 20V MAX* Belt Sander, Cordless, Brushless, Tool Only (DCW220B)

I bought this DEWALT 20V MAX Belt Sander for a challenging stair refinishing project, and it performed exceptionally well. It’s incredibly powerful, and made a tough job much easier. The cordless design was a plus on the stairs, but it does make the tool a little heavy when on awkward angles. The tool feels solid and well-built. Highly recommend!

Good, solid piece of equipment. Very strong and definitely gets the job done. Easy to use and move with. You’ll need some extra batteries, especially when using a heavy grit.

Most (95%) of my hand tools are made by Dewalt and this unit replaced a cord and plug connected belt sander (not a De Walt) that I overheated to the point where it is unusable. I have not used this new De walt belt sander much, but the little that I have used this unit, and not having a cord is wonderful and operates smoothly and while I have been told that it eats batteries, I really don't care because I have plenty of Dewalt batteries in my workshop. So, in my opinion, this is a wonderful unit that is made well and was worth the money and it operates very quietly.

Like all of the 20v dewalt tools this is excellent. Two things you should be aware of. 1. it is very powerful so when you pull the trigger you need to be prepared or it will just run away from you. 2. It goes through batteries very quickly.

Good battery sander. I understand it takes a lot of juice to run this sander, but make sure you have a few 5amp batteries (or higher) laying around as it doesn't take long to drain them, especially if you have a medium to large size project you are working on.

Working from home more, I wanted a cordless belt sander for my small roof deck project so I could stop fighting extension cords and cracked insulation. I used this to sand down the lion wood siding on our roof deck so i could switch from that bad Spar Varnish experiment to IPE oil. Power is good. I ran through a couple boards at a time, then just swapped in a fresh 20v battery from my other DeWalt tools and kept going. The dust bag actually helps a lot and pops off easily so I can dump it in the yard waste bin. The weight is the annoying part. Deck floor work feels fine, but holding it up to hit the upper siding and edges wore my arms out fast.

This belt sander has a ton of power used to sand the edges of hardwood floors hundreds better than tripping over cords and a fraction of the price of a floor edger definitely recommend

Being cordless is very nice. Have only used 2 times. I have a 9AH battery on it, seems to last.

Great product. Use at least a 6 ah battery

I finally ordered the Dewalt belt sander when it went on sale for $239.00 , it was the lowest price i've seen so far on Amazon and i couldn't hold back at that price. For what it's worth, i already have the whole collection of Dewalt and Porter Cable 20v tools and this was the only missing item.It retails for $369 at my local Home Depot so this purchase was a no brainer. Not too impressed with the way the dust bag is attached but if it does it's purpose i can live with it. The tracking adjustment seems spot on , we'll see if it stays like that after prolonged use, and from what i read this unit is pretty hungry for batteries , i alrady have two 5A batteries but will purchase a few more if necessary. I'll update my review after using this sander for a few hours.

I own corded belt sanders and use when I have a big job like sanding a big deck. I use this battery powered sander for the small quick jobs. The dewalt 20v belt sander is excellent. Very powerful and does a quick job. Don't expect this sander to do big jobs unless you have many batteries charged up. I love the convenience of not having to find a power outlet.
