Amazing duct tape. On my 3rd roll now. Lasts ages (depending on usage of course), very versitile and durable. I use it regularly for all sorts of purposes as you do with duct tape. This is made from very strong materials and the adhesive is powerful too. Good value, thickness of tape is ideal, lots of tape on this large roll and I will be buying more when I'm done with this one.

The under engine cover of my car came loose after ripping the bolts and destroying the bolt holes so couldn't just be bolted back in, and it was going to take 2 days until I could get the car fixed at the repair garage. I taped it up with regular duck tape and it just kept coming undone every time I'd drive the car more than 30mph. I bought some of this, and taped it up and it didn't budge one bit even on the motorway at 70mph. The technician who repaired the car said the tape was incredibly strong too and wanted some for himself. I've also used it to tape up an electricity meter box that keeps flapping open in the wind and it has held on for ages without any loss of adhesive even in wet weather. I'm very impressed by the tape, yes it costs more than double what some other gaffa tape might cost but it's worth it.

I have tried using various tapes over the years and T-Rex is by far the best. Sticks to just about anything so very versatile, nice thickness and provides a good seal if you are that is your purpose. The wider rolls are easy to tear with your fingers, the thinner rolls I have found I need scissors to cut as I just cannot tear like normal. Grey in colour, very sticky texture and ultimately its stickiness is its biggest selling point for me.

There are many, many options when it comes to cloth/duct tape. 3M is now prohibitively expensive and budget options just don't have the sticking power (especially in this economy). Being half the price the T-rex tape does still come with a decent sized roll. It is pretty thick with the glue layer being the primary bulk. It's quite easy to tear by hand, and a nightmare to cut with anything but a knife/fabric shears. Unlike the 3M counterpart, T-rex does not stick well to smooth surfaces. You can rule out most plastics, PVC or any other smooth plastic you can think of. It's not all bad news, however, as to anything else it holds very strong. I've had a shelf taped up for longer than I care to admit and I am yet to see any sign of budging. Overall, it's really not that bad. Incredible sticktion on rougher surfaces but useless on anything smooth. I think next time, I will just bite the bullet at go 3M, just because it's a more versatile solution. But honestly, I wouldn't count this tape out. Give it a go, it might just surprise you.

Brilliant and strong

at least compared to duck and gorilla (and the many 2nd-tier brands I can't even recall the name of) Really strong and quite incredibly sticky. Reason for writing this review is I had some snapped springs in an old sofa and was racking my brain working out what to repair them (imagine a zig-zag of wire running front to back under the seat). Then the "it doesn't have to be pretty" thought struck and couple of loops of T-Rex to bridge the breaks and sofa is repaired and seems to have withstood a bit of cautious->extreme bouncing on it. I even treated the sofa to some t-rex to repair where I'd cut through the base. Something very satisfying with a repair that ended up just requiring a knife and some tape - I have immediately re-ordered another roll as I don't intend to ever be without. Only possible considerations against it - it's not the prettiest of tape (duck is nearly as good and comes in many colours). Quite thick so you don't get that much on the roll - I still use Duck if I've got a lot to tape and max strength isn't required. Stickiness can make it a little tricky to work with in confined spaces - if it touches something (or itself) as you're trying to get it into position it will instantly stick.

I don't know what product people are using when they say this tape does not stick well. In my experience, it adheres very, very well. I haven't tried to remove it from anything (yet) but I would not like to try, because this stuff grabs on like it will never let go. I put it on some outside electrical wires that were starting to show sun damage, but it hasn't been on long enough to see how it stands up. This tape is quite thick / heavy duty.
