Highly recommended
These microphones are superb. Used in conjunction with the Rode Stereo bar and recording using a Zoom H6 - if anyone is considering a similar setup, I can highly recommend it.Using them to record an orchestra, I'm getting what is (to me) a detailed natural sound with a good stereo image (using ORTF setup)

Wow!
Rode nt5 matching pair, great build quality and detail to these very popular mic's. I love em, so much detail resolved by these rode nt5's and so versatile. I record guitar, keyboards, vocals and the ambience of the outdoors. Wildlife to flowing streams, insects buzzing past, birds singing, foxes calling all with such clarity. Amazing!

Excellent
Astonishing good for the money. Low floor noise. Used them for a choir. Warm and wide stereo out of the box. C451s for almost half the price.

Five Stars
Nice mic. Clearly guitar sound

Very clean and clear.
Used for stereo location pick up, or as a quick desktop interview/podium placement, or even in a quick boom run in good conditions this does very well. Very good for acoustic pickup. They love a controlled environment but adapts well with wind protection.

great mic
finally a microphone that accurately sounds like my vocals and guitar. Can't fault it. no pick up of background noise, basically no noise issues or buzzing. deals with plosives well without any extra shielding other than the included black foam cover for vocals. no harsh sibilance or boominess, well balanced tonally. works a lot better than my large capsule rode nt1a ever did for vocals and guitar. Sold all my other mics as a result of finding this. my brother has some c2 behringers that don't sound anywhere near as good.

Noisy!
I use a variety of mics: for field recording, to obtain sources for making sample instruments, and for voice and acoustic instruments. I thought I would use the matched pair of NT5s for stereo recordings, but I've found them too noisy. For outdoor/atmos recordings I find that they demand quite high gain, to levels where noise is problematic. For me, for field recording, 'room tone', grabbing a stereo image of reasonable quality or sticking into small spaces, a pair of "Clippy" mics (from micbooster.com) is more versatile, with good sensitivity and lower self-noise.I read quite good things about the NT5s before I purchased, but I haven't used them very much. They're probably ok as drum overheads, i.e., for gathering secondary 'spatiality' in situations where the source sound is loud and well-defined. I wouldn't recommend them for point sources, lead voice or anything too subtle in the field.Oh yeah, that word in the listing... they're not "Premium". Look and listen around to confirm.

Great quality
Unfortunately, I never recieved this pair of mics that I bought from Amazon, but I got my refund, so all is good. I later bought them at a local music shop. Recording with them encourged me to do this review. These are a semiprofessional pair of condenser mics that will do, virtually, a professional job. The most important thing to remember is that the placing of the mics is key; if it does not sound right, there will be nothing wrong with the mics. Just try a different position. Good luck!
