Good quality as it seems. Feels and looks very solid, sturdy. I used longer screws than provided, for more protection. I am happy with this extra security at my front and back door (it also prevents my 2yo from sneaking out, when she’s finds out to open the doors).

DO NOT BUY! As a Law Enforcement Officer for 4 decades, I honestly believed this would be a decent lock. HOWEVER, my 82 year old grandmother was able to snap this when we accidentally locked her out of the house. With the chain on and deadbolt locked she opened the deadbolt with her key, opened the door (not realizing the chain was on). The chain snapped with NO FORCE on the door, just the act of pulling the door open was able to brake this piece of garbage (see photo). Absolutely a serious safety concern...people will use this lock thinking, as stated in the product description, it is a heavy duty, extra thick chain, sturdy enough to protect against forced entry...." Anyone who actually wants to keep evil out of their home, do not use this lock!

This is a sturdy door chain. I bought it for a secondary lock since my front door (with glass panes) only has a deadbolt and not a handle lock, meaning someone could just break the glass, reach in, and flip the deadbolt. I wanted a second lock for peace of mind. This is sturdy and was very easy to install. I actually have a recessed door with very thick wood trim, and I was able to make this work easily. I installed it very high (75 inches) so it would be very hard to unlatch or force open. It is important to note, if someone really wanted in, no door chain will ever keep them out. It will slow them down, though, and make lots of noise... something a burglar does not want. It added an extra layer of security for me and was very cost effective. It is also great for anyone with a toddler who might be able to open the deadbolt, but still could not open the front door.

The door chain lock looks great! Appears to be heavy duty and was easy to install.

I built a gate for a storage area attached to my house. I’m very proud of it. It needed a latch in case a hurricane came. This fit the bill perfectly. I’ll try to get a photo if I can get off the sofa. Great product. Highly recommended!

Without doubt the worst product I have ever ordered on Amazon. Avoid at all costs. I installed it and wanted to test it. I opened the door with the most minimal amount of force, level 1 on a scale of 1 to 10, and the chain snapped. A truly awful product!
