My carpet fitter has adviced me to go for the 9 mm instead of 11mm underlay as the grippers arnt long enough to grip properly . Any advice?

We only provide the standard length gripper rods. We have carpet fitters using underlay up to 15mm thick with our gripper rods and have not had any problems with the carpets not holding properly.

what is the correct size of gripper rod to use when using 11mm underlay? thank you

You can fit up to 15mm with these grippers. The carpet fitter should know how to achieve this when stretch fitting the carpets. You won't have any problems fitting an 11mm underlay with the standard gripper. You can buy a long pin gripper, but you can only use that with certain carpets incase the pins poke through the carpet.
