Emperor Pickletine Rides the Bus (Origami Yoda #6) (Volume 6) [Angleberger, Tom] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Emperor Pickletine Rides the Bus (Origami Yoda #6) (Volume 6) Review: this one and Princess Labelmaker are more like two parts to one larger book - If you are familiar with the previous Origami Yoda books, you probably don’t need this review, because this book is more of the same. All I can say is that, in my opinion, the quality doesn’t decline in the way it does in some other series. The other thing you want to make sure you are aware of is that this particular book is kind of a series within a series. Whereas the other Origami Yoda books have their own unique story arcs, this one and Princess Labelmaker are more like two parts to one larger book. In terms of the series as a whole, it is really the first series that my son and I agreed upon as being good. Before that, he was reading books like Captain Underpants, which (aside from the fact that I figured that any reading was good) didn’t appeal to me at all. Not only do I think that the content is more enlightening than many other books for this age group, but they also tend to get children interested in origami, which is a great hobby. My son was obsessed with it for a while, especially since you can go on Youtube and see the author of the book showing how to make all the different characters that are mentioned. The origami hobby also feeds back into interest in the books, and it gets him discussing what he’s ready, which is always a good thing. I really have nothing negative to say about it. Review: Good book, great series - Great way to cap off the series

21-Fold Salute!
This was a great final installment in the Origami Yoda series, even if it made me sad to see it end. Mr. Angleberger has written a wonderful, funny, and altogether memorable series about a bunch of kids and their origami Star Wars guys and all the wisdom their origami creations give them. I like how the kids in this book go to Washington DC, and also how they creatively break the NO ORIGAMI! rule, while not breaking it. For a Star Wars geek who does origami in his spare time, this series is the jackpot for me! Tommy is a great main character. I love how he handles situations. All the kids in the book seem very realistic to me. This was a great ending to an AWESOME series! To thee, I give a 21-fold salute!

"Tom Angleberger makes everything interesting" - from my 9 year old
My 9 year old has read every book in this series - more than once. Once he picks one of them up - even after multiple readings - he will not put it down. Not even to watch Minecraft videos on YouTube. And, even better, he's engaged not only with the characters and the story but the art. He's turned into an origami-folding genius. We have little paper Yodas, Han Foldos and the little bear dudes all over the house. The series make for great book reports for school, too, as you have ready-to-make props. Emperor Pickletine Rides the Bus is meant to be the last book in the series - and when he finished it, he was deeply, deeply disappointed that the series had come to an end. He's still hoping there will be another. (I am too - because while my kid is a passionate reader, few books have ever made him read like this.) My son picked up another of Tom's book's recently - Fake Mustache: Or, How Jodie O'Rodeo and Her Wonder Horse (and Some Nerdy Kid) Saved the U.S. Presidential Election from a Mad Genius Criminal Mastermind and literally could not put it down. When he finished it, he said, "Tom Angleberger makes everything interesting." I agree. Thanks, Tom, for making something my kid could devour, and for validating his faith in books and writers!

Not a pickle fan but worth reading
Still love the series but this book didn't have quite the same sparkle as the ones before until the last quarter which was clever and funny. Still worth reading.

We love this series!
My nine year old loves this book! He’s read through the entire series twice. He has a huge collection of origami now. Be sure to check out Tom’s YouTube videos. My son has spent countless hours learning from them.

The last Origami Yoda book?! Will there be more!?
Okay, moms and dads, although the idea of a pickle puppet is disgusting, this book, as all the Origami Yoda books, still has what it takes to keep my kid, and me, wanting to keep reading. It's maybe not my favorite, and feels generally less "enthusiastic" as the others, but it may be simply because the funtime storyline has been resolved and the conflicts are a little different. It's basically about all of the shenanigans that the kids get into on the bus and during the field trip that they lobbied so hard for in the previous books. I think this may be the last in the series, which kind of makes us sad, but it is wrapped up nicely.
