USB Over RJ45 Ethernet LAN Cat5e/6 Cable Extension Extender Adapter Set

When using a VPN it was not possible to connect wirelessly to a printer and the printers were in a different location in the house. This device with 30M of cable allowed me to connect the printer to the PC via the USB port. This worked perfectly. Just to note, It only worked intermittently when it was plugged into a hub which was connected to the laptop. When it was plugged directly into the laptop it worked without fault. If this is causing intermittent issues, a solution might be to connect it to its own port on the docking station, laptop or PC. A very reasonably priced solution.

I used this to extend the USB connection to a Conbee II Zigbee USB radio. My Home Assistant is in a rack in my block built utility room, coverage from there was obstructed by the rack and the thick walls. I used this extender to utilize the in-wall Cat5e wiring, with a patch cable at each end. Not sure how long the actual in wall cable length is but the socket I used is two floors up from the utility room. It been running for the last few days without issue, I'll update if that changes.

I had hoped to use this to connect an external hard drive to my computer using a 2 metre ethernet cable. The original transfer speed of a 4gb file using only a USB lead was around 95 MB/s. However, using the USB Over RJ45 Ethernet LAN cable, the speed dropped to virtually zero. Sadly, I sent it back for a refund.
