Hi not sure what you mean about compression the inlet pipe connectors are dual size so two different size pipes can be connected, dose not come with clips, you can use plastic ties or Jubilee clips it’s Quite long so check measurements Hope this helps

How do you seal the bottom of the pipe if there's no threading?

The waste trap that goes below has a compression type fitting no threads required

I assume you mean how does your appliance hose compress on to the ribbed inlets. Dependant on your hose /pipe size it may require a jubilee clip, these are not supplied. Don’t overtighten, the hose/ pipe should just push on over the ribbed pipe.
