When the NAS arrived and I booted it, it started beeping from the second I turned it on. It turned out the fan was installed the wrong way around and it was installed using an electric screwdriver, the screws were way too tight which caused the fan to connect with the case and refused to move.

Ayant utilisé par le passé des NAS WD, je ne regrette absolument pas mon choix vers Synology. Très facile d’utilisation même si un peu déroutant au début. Quand on voit tout ce qu’on peut faire à ce NAS, c’est juste parfait.

I’m sure they are good but not user friendly if you’re not a nas geek. Also, I bought some expensive SSDs for the NAS that were compatible, now Synology updated the list of incompatible drives, and A LOT of drives are now "incompatible". My drives are now "incompatible" after working fine for months, and starting giving me "abnormal error' or something. They want to sell their own drives. Will never buy another Synology.

Nas consigliatissimo per uso domestico Lo uso ininterrottamente da 1 anno e per tutta la famiglia è comodissimo Le cose più utili sono synology photos (gestisce l'album personale di ogni utente), synology drive (per tutti i file office) Molto comodi anche docker e synology surveillance station (2 licenze telecamere incluse). Il prodotto di suo è molto performante, ma usando anche home assistant ho aggiunto 4GB di ram (8 in tutto) e un SSD come cache di lettura. Mai notato rallentamenti significativi.

Bought to upgrade from a DS220+, and worth doing. Even without adding any extra memory or SSD, the improvement in performance is noticeable immediately! I could see that some extra RAM would be well worth investing in, as the migration took a very long time to finish off all the background indexing etc, and tied up the existing memory enough to notice a significant slowdown in anything I tried doing manually at the same time. Once all set up though, a perfect little machine and very glad I forked out the extra money for this.
