Winsor & Newton Drawing Ink, 14ml Bottle, Black Indian

This ink was just what I was looking for. I'm a watercolor/mixed media artist and like to add embellishments to some of my abstract art. I use metallic watercolor but sometimes that just isn't strong/bright enough. This Winsor & Newton Gold Drawing Ink fits the bill. The color is strong, has great coverage, and adds just enough "Wow" to my work. You have to remember to shake the bottle well before opening it to use, and I then use my paint brush to get the ink in the cap. I find this is usually just enough paint for what I'm doing, if not, I simply replace the lid and shake again. The ink washes out of my brush with water and can also be thinned with a small amount of water. I read in a review or two that the cap becomes "glued" to the bottle sometimes, To prevent this, using my finger, I carefully apply a very small amount of Vaseline around the outside of the neck of the bottle before screwing on the lid for the first time. I use this same hint on all my tubes of watercolor/acrylic/oil paint. There is plenty of ink in the bottle for me to use on many, many projects, but if and when I run out, I will order again.

My son uses this Winsor & Newton Ink and it works very well. The color is rich and consistent, and the ink flows smoothly without issues. It’s easy to use with brushes and dip pens, dries quickly, and gives his drawings a clean, professional look. He really enjoys working with it. Great quality and definitely worth it.

This is a very nice ink. I don't have much experience with other inks, so I can't compare very thoroughly, but it definitely satisfies all my ink needs. You just have to remember to shake it before using it and like others have said, clean very well. I have had the hardest time trying to get the cap off after the ink has sealed it shut and end up using rubber gloves for several minutes. That is the only downside. I bought this with the intention to use it for multimedia projects. I also thought I might only need this and not gold paint as well, but I don't think it is a good replacement because it is very runny. (It is ink after all.) In any case, it can be used on some things, but you have to be careful. I tried painting a polymer clay sculpture with it and then painting glazing over it, but the glaze caused the ink to come off even when the ink was dry. I ended up just dripping the glaze on and letting it dry without actually painting it over with the brush. That way it did not come off. But I will probably not be trying that again. As for the white, it can be used instead of white paint in certain circumstances because it is a bit more opaque, but again you have to experiment a bit. It is harder to draw on afterwards with marker or pen because it is harder and shinier when it dries. (Paint is matte.) But it is a lot smoother than paint when it dries. So it is great if you are not intending to draw on it afterwards. Even so, if I need other colors of ink (right now I only have white, gold, and silver), I will be buying this brand.

As a calligrapher and pen & ink cartoonist of over 50 years, Winsor & Newton remains the best quality ink on the market. It flows beautifully and provides a rich black. You may think when the bottle arrives, why did I pay so much for this tiny little bottle? It's not only worth it, but that tiny little bottle goes a long way, and will last you a very long time. You're not painting, you're drawing or doing calligraphy with it.

I really love this shade of gold, it's not too rosy or coppery/green. It's kind of hard to use at first; but it adds a nice touch to drawings and doodles. It's also really pretty to look at, overall I recommend this product to anyone who wants a metallic and challenging medium.

This ink is some of the best ink I have ever used. I cannot believe I got such a god product for so cheap. I draw all the time and use it again and again. The black color is true black and doesn't have any green or blue undertones. It goes on the paper beautifully, does not bleed, dries in appropriate time and easily wipes off surfaces! When using other ink it stains my hands sometimes for a week. This ink stays on paper but comes right off of my hands! If it's dry I can just scratch it off and it also comes off easily with soap and water. Im buying more the second I run out. I am so happy with this purchase. I attached a photo to show the ink. One wet and one dry.

I use it for my watercoloring, and it is brilliant. Since the ink is already a bit "wet" due to the thin liquidey feel, it goes of the brush without any trouble. Normally I would need to wet my pans with a lot of water to get the same effect. This only takes 1 dip and you're good to go. To use it this way, I simply shake the bottle, dip a wet brush in it and then hard-shake the brush over my paintings with the gold ink on the brush. The ink adds a beautiful effect in the finished painting, adding a magical and lively effect to each one. It splatters everywhere if you're not careful though, so make sure to protect your surroundings before using this method 😉

Ich mag die Farbe sehr und arbeite gerne mit diesem Produkt. Die goldenen Farbpartikel müssen vor der Verarbeitung allerdings kräftig aufgeschüttet werden, da sie schnell wieder auf den Grund des Glases fallen: also zügige Verarbeitung wird nach dem Schütteln empfohlen. Ich finde das Produkt sehr gut! Klare Empfehlung!

Not to runny and not to thick, easy to use with both brush and dip pen. You'll need to vigorously shake it up every so often but well worth it. Works as fluidly as any other ink, and looks beautiful on paper. Just like in the photos above and comes out much like whats on the lable surprisingly. Definatley using this in future work.
