Is there a cover over the screen or is the protection only around the edges?

There is no cover over the screen. The sides are slightly higher to protect the screen from scratches. I would recommend some type of screen protector.

What type of screen protector can be add to band?

Hello. I don't think any kind of film type screen protector would interfere although I don't believe those types of products wouldn't introduce touch sensitivity issues. I do not use any with this band as it has raised edges around the screen which protects the screen from initial impact. I hope this helps!

Is the band removable?

No. Only the watch. The case and band is one piece. The case/band has a buckle so you can remove from your wrist. The charger can easily attach to the watch without removing the watch from the case/band.
