First it's big and roomy. I was able to put two dinning room chairs, large book bag, large couch pillows, and a pillowcase full of cloths in the oven. It comes with one wireless thermometer but I bought several extra indoor/outdoor thermometers like this: Taylor 1522 Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer , and placed the temperature sensors deep under layers and folds throughout the contents of bag to monitor the temperatures. The temperature rose quickly inside the over and the thicker items took a little longer to get to the right bug roasting at 120 degrees. Items need to be heated thoroughly internally/externally penetrating the cracks and crevices where bugs hide. So the oven gets to about 145 degrees inside. It recommended that you run the Oven from 4 to 8 hours depending on it contents. There are two included timer units that can be set at adjustable times of when you want heater to shut off. The package contains everything you will need to set it up. It even has an extra extension cord to make sure both heaters are on different circuit outlets. The two heater are small and look like legos to me. They have a switch on the bottom that will automatically turn unit off if knocked over. So, if its not perfectly seated on the switch the units will not power on. The oven heat tunnels made my heaters sit up too high so I had to put something underneath so the switch would make contact with the floor. I bought this because I wanted to be able to put bigger things in oven the just my carry-on luggage. And, to be able to do larger quantities on items that need bug extermination. Overall the ZappBug Oven 2 works very well. It is constructed out of a heavy canvas type of material and space age heat retainers, kind of like a Pizza over bag. It has a wire collapsible frame like you may have seen on some standup laundry bags. This system also allows it to fold down flat and be stored in the included storage bag. It is definitely better than some of the other brands of heating unit sold that I have tried: ThermalStrike Expedition - Bed Bug Heat Treatment . Still need to write a review for that one too. This is the larger unit and they sell smaller and larger units. Find one that meets your needs is recommended by me.

I didn’t know this machine existed until was in need and I’m so glad I found this! This is save me from the headache I thought I was going to go through getting rid of the bed bugs. This made it so much easier! Since it was pretty big I didn’t have to do too many rounds of “zapping” so that was time saver! I did leave some space for the air to move around the items as the instructions indicated, which I believe helped. The instructions were very clear and easy to set up myself. I’m really glad it shuts off on its own because I know I’d forget to turn it off. If feel like this will be nice to use when I get my winter clothes out of storage or after coming home from vacation. You just never know what you might bring back into your home, and I don’t want to find out the hard way!!!

I read all the reviews before I bought this product. There are other products such as packtite that do the same thing and are twice as much money. Some of the reviews talked about a smell when you first start it, others that they thought it was a cheap knockoff. I can tell you that I bought this for a boarding home that housed 15+ people and had a pretty bad bedbug issue. We had hired a lot of exterminators, did whole house heat treatments and nothing seemed to really get rid of them for good. After about $20k worth of treatments and buying new furniture, mattresses, we finally had an exterminator tell us about this product. I was leery about it, but I think it has spoken for itself. This mean machine has been able to treat mounds of things that could never be fully treated before, such as TV's, Stereos, CPAP machines, book bags, Suitcases, paperwork, books. If you think that stuff is safe, think again. Bed bugs love to lay eggs in books. After having this machine for a couple of weeks, I can say I see a huge improvement. When I first got the machine, I was leery. The machine itself looked as though someone had dragged it through gravel. It had places on the seam on the bottom that were ragged, which upset me. I just paid almost $400 for a machine that looked used. I was upset. I couldn't wait to get another one, so I went ahead and kept it. It works great. We normally get all out things up to about 147 degrees. Yes, it takes about 6 hours, but it is so worth it! I haven't used any of the other heaters, but I would recommend this one fully. Their customer service is excellent. When I got my package I was missing the net that hooks on the inside. Called them and they had it to me in 2 days. I called later and asked if I could buy more support blacks for the inside of it. They didn't charge me for them. I just had to pay shipping. Because of all this I never mentioned the bags condition to them, and it hasn't effected the workings of it. Also, some people mentioned it was hard to pout together or that the directions were confusing. I am not the cleverest person when it comes to building things and I can say with absolute confidence, I had no issues. Simple!

I’m an avid traveler who has managed to avoid bringing bedbugs home (including from two known infestations) with less conventional means. I was excited to try this now that it’s winter and I cannot rely on my car toasting the little critters. I was very disappointed. First, we set the oven up inside our home, since the directions say it works best with an ambient temp of at least 70 degrees. The unit put out toxic-smelling fumes that immediately had us concerned for our safety and that of our pets. We immediately opened doors and windows to the freezing cold, and that didn’t last long before we called it quits. Plan B. We moved the unit onto our patio, but its temp never got above 70 degrees. We placed cardboard under the unit, and it still did not get to the temperature it had to be at. We kept trying though, even waiting for the outside temp to hit 70 to run it again. The heaters overheated a couple times, and the temperature never reached a bedbug killing temp. We must have run those heaters for over 100 hours total, without ever achieving 120 degrees. To top this off, our electric bill jumped from $180 to $450. I knew this thing sucked energy and it would have been worth it— had it worked. Today, we tried to rebox the oven for return and it was near impossible. I wouldn’t be surprised if we picked up bedbugs that were never killed inside, just trying to fold the thing back into the box. Bed bugs used to be my biggest fear (until I was attacked by them in a vacation house and “survived to tell the story.”) I may not dread them as much as I used to, but they still give me nightmares. There is a market of people like me waiting for a product like this to get it right. Hopefully, someday…

I'm a tropical ecologist (in the making to be precise) and I've had a few awful experiences with bed bugs and I TAKE THEM VERY VERY VERY VERY SERIOUSLY. Don't mess around with bed bugs. They are incredibly hard and expensive to get rid of. Overall I've bought two ZappBug ovens (This large one and their smaller unit). I'm still waiting for my big one (more on that later). I've made my bosses buy two of these as well.I trust this company, and their products, 100%. When I was working in Ethiopia the house I stayed at had them... and they followed me around for three months. I hand washed in scalding water everything I could. I wiped down EVERYTHING I OWNED with Ethanol- I mean every little bandage. The process was horrific, especially since I only had one day off a week. I would repeat the process, just in case I missed any, every other Sunday. When I got home I put everything inside my ZappBug RIGHT away. Forgot to even take out the deodorant- I didn't even care. I'm 100% sure that this is the reason why I didn't bring them into my home. Now, whenever anyone in my team travels we come to the lab, take out our samples and Zapp everything. It's effective and so much cheaper than treating your whole house if you get infected. This unit also fits our largest bags and it's incredibly convenient. The smaller one doesn't fit a regular suitcase. I've recently (a day ago) purchased my own home and imagine my HORROR upon discovering four, three-bite, clusters three days before closing. My worst effing nightmare, in my apartment (which I share with two other people), in the USA...Right before I moved into my home. I tried to have my unit from MA shipped to FL but it would have cost $100 dollars. So I splurged on this (buying a home is so expensive so it was truly a splurge). To be honest, though, it's so worth it. This company and their products have brought me, and my team members, so much peace and security. I know I will continue using it whenever I travel. I've given my little unit my sister and her husband who love traveling. Bed bugs are becoming an epidemic and this is your best preventive measure and will facilitate eradication. I also use D-earth powder and rubbing alcohol to wipe down things I can't put in here like ink packages etc. I also use a combination of giant Ziplock bags (never travel without them!). If I have the bugs at home (or think I may) I also use construction grade garbage bags (which I put the ziplock inside of), as bed bugs can get through thinner plastic.
