amazing for shading.
I use this on a suction cup mount to attach to windshields to do repairs, I needed something small and easy to carry with me when I am doing rock chip repairs on windshields and this works great for me. I can't allow the sun to hit the repair until I am ready for it. this may not be what this was intended for but it works great and if it will shade the glass from the sun it will also shade a camera very well.

Excellent quality
It is a very good quality product, in this summer season and high temperatures its use is paramount. We used it for the rain and it helped a lot by adding the plastic protector. If the rain is very heavy you can add another accessory. But it is recommended 1000%. It does not weigh, it is easy to install, comfortable to carry.

Works Well in Most Situations
I bought this to help me when I do sideline football photos. It's actually surprisingly large...it covers my camera body (and my head when I'm shooting) well. I have a telephoto lens (70-200) and it does not cover that, but I use a camera rain cover for that (also purchased on Amazon). What I didn't like about the rain cover is that in order for it to cover my camera body, it has to be placed in a way that makes it difficult to access the camera controls and/or lens for zooming. With this umbrella, I'm able to use the rain cover to just cover the lens up to the camera body, and then I fold it over and can access the controls, which are covered by the umbrella. I don't think you'd be able to use it in a downpour, but it worked well for me in both a light and steady rain last week. I also think it would be caught in a strong wind, which could damage your flash mount, so I would avoid using it on windy days. But overall, I'm very happy with this purchase.

Game changing umbrella for photographers :)
I bought the Camera Hot Shoe Umbrella for a sunny wedding photography gig, hoping it would shield my camera and reduce glare. When I arrived for the bridesmaid photos, the sun was intense, and I worried about overheating and glare in my shots. After quickly attaching the umbrella to my mirrorless camera's hot shoe, I was relieved to see it shaded both my camera and me! Not only did it keep my gear cool, but it also reduced glare, which was a huge help for clear, sharp photos. Attaching it was simple, and I appreciate the angle adjustment feature—it’s flexible for both horizontal and vertical shooting, which is ideal when switching between shots quickly. The only minor downside is that it was a bit smaller than I anticipated, covering mostly the camera but only my face and part of my neck. I noticed there’s a larger size available, so I might buy it to compare. Overall, this is a fantastic umbrella for photographers needing extra protection from the sun or rain. Highly recommend it as a game-changer for outdoor shoots! I got lots of people commenting on how cool it was. ;)

Does what it says, a little flimsy at the ball joint to use in windy conditions
Works well enough. I mostly shoot rugby games, and in light to moderate rain, it covers the telephoto and camera body well enough. I'm using a lens hood which covers the actual lens, so it is hard to say which actually keeps the rain off the lens. But, the umbrella keeps water off the camera body well and is high enough to allow normal hand movement and access to camera buttons. The main problem is probably not unique to this umbrella, but if you are in conditions where sudden gusts are possible, the wind will catch it. And, to get coverage the umbrella needs to be tilted at an angle. The connection point between the stem of the umbrella and the ball joint that allows rotation and tilt is pretty weak - just rolled metal with a butt joint seam. The first hard gust pulled that seam open from the ball joint. I've been using it since then after getting home and doing some work on it with pliers, but it can't tilt quite as low, and it isn't perfect so some positions just slip down and/or rotate to more stable positions. I used it for about a year before the damage, and about a year after and am now looking for a replacement. For the price, not bad, but it isn't an every day accessory and for the number of times it got used it seems average at best.

I must get for a photographer
This came in handy quite a few times when I went to event where it rained. I would only use it in light rain, not in heavy rain because it’s not real wide.

Passd scho

easy to use
This will protect the camera but also me from bright sunlight and rain. Combined with a rain cover the camera can be used safely in all weathers
