These things are at twice as durable as the green scrubbers and last the longest of any other scrubbing sponges we've used. We usually get close to 3-4 weeks out of each one, maybe a little longer depending on how rough we are on them. We normally keep two in rotation at a time so while one is sanitizing/drying we have another to use. They seem to not be as popular as "the greenies", so we stock up on a couple of multi-packs when we re-up. Praise the LORD! These sponges are amazing! The green original version is the only sponge I've used for YEARS, and I've loved them. They are not always easy to find in stores, but are worth the effort to me. These are just as good, but with a more robust scrub surface, so I was interested in trying them out on extra-crazy messes. I love that Scrunge sponges (all versions) stay scrubby for the life of the sponge - they don't compact or lose scrubbing ability like Scotchbrite pads do. And they do last forever: no separation of scrubber from sponge, and do not smell weird easily. The wavy scrubber side helps with that, since you can lay the sponge flat on that side, and there is plenty of air circulation to prevent that stale sourness. Mine have also survived many a germ-killing trip through the microwave with no ill efects. These black heavy duty ones are just as great, but have rougher scrubbing texture and slightly stiffer consistency. This pack is a great value, so it's just an all-around win for me. Very pleased with this find!

I will seriously never buy any other sponges ever again. These are that great! Both the Heavy Duty and the normal O'Cedar Scrunge sponges are amazing price to performance! The Heavy Duty in particular can clean just about anything (even cast iron) and hasn't damaged any of my Teflon coated or crystal dishware. I bought packs in January, June, and December of 2020 and they last about a month and a half each sponge. I've always sanitized them thoroughly in steam, boiling water, dishwasher, direct sunlight and they've all held up without the scrub pads breaking/crumbling or separating from the sponge. The sponges don't rip apart piece by piece over time. Unless you clean a lot of sharp chef knives. Maybe a small corner piece every once in a while but they wear out instead by tearing while staying attached to the scrub pad. My only hope is that they don't purposely start making them worse to sell more. Because these seriously last a very long time with HEAVY use!

Love these. They nvr stink and scrubs well. Worth the money. I got the twelve pack, it should last till the end of the year if not more. Very durable

These are heavy duty and work great plus they last a long time. Other sponges are little bi@ches to these. Why can't I find them in any store? Because they work too good and last too long I suppose. Stores don't like things you don't have to replace often. These sponges rock. If I ever can't find them I'm gonna be hella sad.

I purchased these sponges w/somewhat trepidation. I had read a professional review that rates the O’Cedar sponges as the best on the market. Yet numerous Amazon reviews noted that the sponges didn’t last, even crumbled like the Mr. Clean Erasers. I concur w/the professional reviews......These are the best sponges I’ve ever used! The scrubber side is dense, durable and does a complete job w/o scratching surfaces. Also, debris doesn’t stick to the scrubber side, as does on my popular blue or yellow/green scrubber sponges. I’ve found the O’Cedar sponges to last as long, if not longer than the more popular sponges that I’ve been using for years. When the O’Cedar sponges begin to break down, they do tend to crumble. However, the popular scrubber sponges that I’ve been using tend to shred as they breakdown. Basically, as a sponge decomposes, it’s going to fall apart......So crumbling vs shedding doesn’t make that big of a difference. I’m wondering if the consumers who are experiencing rapid deterioration of the sponges, have hard water? Perhaps the chemicals/minerals in the water effect the longevity of the sponges? Fortunately, in our area, we have high quality tap water. Maybe there’s a correlation between quality of tap water and sponge life? In any case, based on my experiences, I highly recommend the O’Cedar Scrunge Sponge!

I am actually basing my review on a previous purchase. I discovered that I actually had these in my cabinet from a purchase a long time ago, but only one was left. I used it on a pretty big job with lots of tough material to scrub off. It came off wonderfully and left the sink nice and shiny white. I was so impressed that I ordered a new batch. If you have a hard job ahead of you, I would try these. They made my work so much easier and faster. One side is for scrubbing and the other side is for simple wiping. I have not tried it on every surface, so I'm not sure if there is some situations in which it would not be recommended. There is a statement on the package about it and it recommends to always test it out first in an inconspicuous area. These are great all-purpose powerful cleaning sponges and you can't go wrong having a few of these in your cleaning arsenal.
