Superb
Needed this to drive a couple of Tannoy monitors hooked up to my mixing desk after my trusty amp died a dignified death and what a replacement. How do they do this for the price, great little amp and plenty powerful.

Powerful Amp With Multiple Inputs
Got this to replace my old unit so wanted a general purpose amp with loadsa inputs/sockets to connect all my units like tape decks (yes I am afraid I said tape decks).. turntable, CD player, Digital mixer...mp3 player etc etc. I wasn't disappointed. This unit has lots of RCA inputs, 3.5mm input, 1/4 jack, SD card player and an excellent BT connection. Don't know much about BT but this has not failed to connect on any unit I have tried pairing and also makes the connection within few secs. Also has an FM radio...Nothing wrong with that .... but I think I prefer to run my DAB through the amp via a 3.5 cable. There is a USB slow charge connector on the front of the unit for your phone ... if needed... if you are using your phone for extended periods to play music via the amp. The frequency response sounds pretty good to me.. maybe just a shade too much towards higher/ treble...but that is very subjective and it has fairly good bass/treble response along with a range of EQ presets on the remote. The selector switch system seems a bit quirky to me in that you select which auxiliary unit you want on the selector dial (say "Aux1") and then you need to cycle through the "Mode" button" to match up "Aux" on the display panel. But you soon get the hang of it. Only problem I had was that the "Aux" selector switch pulled off from the spindle when I first got it. Would push back on... but not grippy enough to turn the spindle.. so resorted to some surgery with pliers and superglue!!! Not high tech but it works (but sorry... a star off for that). Apart from that a very neat all purpose amp at a reasonable price if you have multiple devices to connect.

More false advertising from Pyle and Amazon. Pyle PTA2 does NOT have 40Wx2
More false advertising from both Pyle and Amazon. Amazon cleverly positioning themselves as the "not responsible" party. The Pyle PTA2 does NOT have 40Wx2 of output power. At 1% Total harmonic Distortion is has 8Wx2. At 10%THD it has 10Wx2. Therefore the MAXIMUM output power for this amplifier is 10Wx2 (20W total PMPO-Peak Maximum Power Output). Not 40Wx2 (80W total PMPO). Note that maximum power means audio distorted by 10% and bordering unlistenable. The USABLE power of the Pyle PTA2 is 8Wx2 RMS (Root Mean Square), or 16W RMS total. At this power output everything should sound okay. This company and many others selling cheap tat, are notorious for overstating the power output of their products. In the EU any audio product MUST display the RMS power when advertised. Amazon yet again allowing foreign suppliers to flout EU consumer legislation.

After my old Sony receiver blew out, I wanted to find a nice, basic amplifier to take its place. Most "affordable" new ones I came by ran for $100 or more, which I didn't want to spend. Then I came across this little gem, and I can honestly say that it does its job more than well enough! I have this hooked up to my flat-screen TV with a Teac 10-band equalizer, and use it mostly for gaming. With the proper equalization, the sound output from this amp is excellent, and it has more than enough bass power to add plenty of depth. I use it with four 8-ohm stereo speakers (two in parallel on each output) with a series sub-woofer (2.1 setup, basically), and it has no problem driving plenty of sound out of them. And it has extra inputs and a connector for headphones, should I ever need them. The output does have a faint hiss, but it's only audible when no other sound is coming through. I only notice it when everything else is absolutely quiet. The only other negative thing I can think of is when there's too much high-frequency sound, there's a little bit of distortion. But at the price I paid for this, it's not enough to knock a star off! If you don't need any video or digital audio capabilities, and just want a basic amplifier that puts out good sound, this is a great way to go! UPDATE - 5/13/2013: I've had it over a year now, and it still works like new! I did discover one little thing, though. The faint hiss over the speakers becomes a loud hiss when listening on headphones. It's loud enough that it's really no good listening to anything over headphones, so I wouldn't recommend it for that kind of use. For a 2.0 or 2.1 speaker setup though, it sounds great, and is very hard to beat for the price! I still give it 5 stars.

I replaced a full-size integrated Denon amplifier with this tiny Pyle in order to create more space in my kitchen. It worked perfectly! Perhaps a bit too little treble. Even when I set the treble to max, it's still not as much treble as with a normal amplifier. But it's not much difference. The power LED is extremely bright, it lights up my kitchen in the night, so I put a little cap over it. Bluetooth connection works fine, you have to first choose the CD/BT input, and then press MODE. If I could choose, I think Pyle should design it so that it automatically tries to connect to Bluetooth without having to press MODE. But it's no biggie of course. The volume knob is great. The knob for input selection requires quite a grip to be able to turn it. Pyle should use knobs that are easier to turn in the future. But again - no biggie! The sound is great for the money. This is a great little amplifier for the kitchen or small room etc. Recommended!

I bought this amp for my office to replace a 20W, 12V amp I've been using for a few years. The 20W amp worked well but I wanted to move it to my work shop. This new amplifier is better than the 20W and I'm quite happy with it. The sound quality isn't as good as the amp on my entertainment system but, for my little office, it does a really nice job. The control knobs feel really nice when an adjustment has to made, there's a left - right balance which I really like having and this little amplifier supports 3 inputs plus an aux input. I tried the aux input before the other inputs and I was really disappointed in the sound quality until I realized that this input has a higher gain than inputs in the back. The higher gain is great if you have a device, like a smart phone, with an adjustable volume but it may not be very good if your device has a fixed output. Once I found a cable that allowed me to use the inputs on the back of the amp, all was good and I was quite impressed with the sound quality. If I had to buy another basic stereo amp I'd get one of these.
