Great product that allows me to keep with my son's braces in between visits when the wire starts to get pokey.

These worked perfect for fixing a poky wire on my brothers braces. I used to work in the ortho field so I have experience using them and these were exactly like the tool I used in office. Very durable and incredible price.

I have double power chains on top as bottom of my teeth and a torch chain and elastics. My wires protrude writhing hours of my adjustments from my teeth shifting so quickly. These wire cutters are perfect for trimming them and to avoid the hassle of going back to the office for just a clip.

I bought this for my daughter’s braces. Her teeth are moving so quickly, and that’s causing extra wire to stick out. The orthodontist advised me to get one of these to trim the wire. However, this tool will not cut the wire. I’ll have to return it because it’s of no use.

I have 3 kids with braces and so often the brackets break and it hurts there insides of the mouth and to set appointments for the office visit is a hasssle. so i do it and they work GREAT.

These pliers are roughly formed and minimally finished. They do not have the same feel as proper orthodontic tools. That is acceptable, as they are priced so much less than those tools. The pivot action is smooth, the tool performs its expected functions, and the cutting edges are formed from carbide inserts. Those edges are plenty sharp where they need to be. The handle is comfortably shaped for control, with edges knocked down and enough polishing to not feel rough to the touch.

I worked in dentistry for years and used distal end cutters. These are not sharp enough. They do not cut ortho wire.

I bought this to see if it would be useful for component leads/wires on older circuit boards. while kinda useful, flush cut pliers are probably better for getting into tight spaces and nipping off the excess lead after soldering. on these, around 1/2 of the jaw will make a clean cut, while the area away from the tips will not. I don't know if this is by design. I did need to snug down the pivot screw a little to improve the cutting action as initially the jaws could shift a little and not cleanly slice the wire. the intent of the tool is to cut the connecting wire poking off the end of the braces and to hold the cut piece after it's severed. For that, it seems to work well. for my experiment, after the cut I'd be holding the wire end that is soldered to the board, so not useful. where it is helpful is cutting down stranded wire for crimp terminals since the cut strands are clamped in the jaws after the nip is made (if the wire is inserted the "correct" way in the tool).
