Excellent Sealant for Pools and Patios This Deck-O-Seal in gray turned out to be exactly what I needed for sealing expansion joints around the pool deck. The consistency is smooth and easy to work with once mixed properly, and it levels out without much fuss. I noticed it adheres strongly and cures into a flexible, rubbery finish that handles temperature changes well—important for outdoor areas exposed to both sun and water. What I like most is the professional look it gives once cured. The gray blends naturally with concrete and pool surroundings, not drawing unwanted attention. It’s also waterproof, which is essential for joints near water features. The kit includes everything needed, but be prepared to mix thoroughly and apply within the working time—it does set up fairly quickly, so planning ahead is key. So far, it’s holding up against water, chlorine, and foot traffic without cracks or peeling. It feels like the kind of product that will last for years with minimal upkeep, and that’s exactly what I want for outdoor maintenance projects. Bottom line: A reliable, durable sealant for pool decks and patios that delivers professional results if you take the time to apply it correctly.

Preparation is key. Follow the directions EAXACTLY. Make sure the joint is clean and dry. Masking the joint is VERY important to avoid spills onto the deck surface. No one has a steady enough hand. Work quickly, the mfg is correct about their 1 hour pot life -- take a break after the job is done. Be careful about DIY Youtube videos. One guy suggested using a heat gun to make the product flow faster -- that would only shorten the pot life.

Deck-o-seal is NOT delivering as advertised. I have mixed and applied Deck-O-Seal around the pool many times at my home and at the properties that I own. I know how to mix and use the product. I'm very meticulous about my job, especially when it comes to my home. I see the same results whether it's in the sun or the shade. The product only lasted 4 yrs at most. Below are the pictures showing the issue. I'm very disappointed that the product did not last 4 yrs. The product company claims: DECK-O-SEAL ... is a premium-grade... tear-resistant rubber. DECK-O-SEAL has outstanding resistance .., to all weather conditions, aging, and shrinkage. USES DECK-O-SEAL ... provide a firm, flexible, weather-tight seal. Provides permanent and uniform watertight seal. Prevents uncontrolled cracking by allowing expansion and contraction during temperature changes. Stays flexible and won't become brittle or crack due to ultraviolet exposure. All the text in red is misleading at best. None of those claims seem to match with the reality of the images. I have contacted Deck-o-seal customer service and they are not taking any responsibilities. They claim that buying the product at Amazon, Ebay, etc is not fresh. They do not recommend purchasing Deck-o-seal. Time to find another product since this company does not stand behind their product!

This product has somewhat of a learning curve but you will save a lot of money if you do this yourself. A few tips: 1) Mix the two parts with one of those drill mixers, 2) Have the pool coping/deck completely ready to apply the product, 3) Do not do this in hot weather (>85 degrees) as it will set up very quickly, 4) The workable life of this is about an hour, 5) Be careful not to get this on the coping or the deck, it is somewhat difficult to get out. The finished product is durable and attractive.

Great product......if you are doing the expansion joint on your pool here are a few watch outs.... Make sure your backer rod is positioned correctly or you will waste your sealer..... Work in small quantities....like what you can spread in 20 minutes....once it starts to set up, its a bitch to work with...!!!! Remember you are on your hands and knees and unless you are in great shape, keep it to 20 minutes and take a break.... I worked in 90* heat, it will start to set up in around 15 minutes...... I used 2 gallons for a 47 x 24 pool and gap was 1/4 to 3/4 inch wide Stay Hydrated I dont think you can find a better product for the job.....its been 18 months and its still looking good and no separation anywhere .

I originally bought the Deck O seal to put in the caulking gun thinking it would be easier than mixing a bunch of cans together, but the ready mix was so hard to get out of the tube I gave myself permanent nerve damage in my thunb from trying to squeeze it out.Not only that it was sooooo sticky I couldn't get it to smooth out and look good. I finally broke down and bought the kit to mix and let me tell you it was so easy to use and turned out looking so good my pool guy asked me if I wanted a job. One tip, I put Deck O Foam (which Amazon doesn't sell,bought it at a different web site) between the pool deck and the coping stone and the Deck O Seal mix went in like melted butter.I also threw clean sand over the wet mix so it wasn't so shiny. Looks great. Be sure to measure your pool so you order enough product and it cures pretty fast in warm weather. Considering my pool guy wanted to charge me $400 to do this job, I saved $200 doing it myself! Can't beat that.

pool company quoted price of $15 a foot to replace. My son did it in two days. First day removal of old stuff and prepped and cleaned. Next day he applied new product around pool. Great job. It's very hard to remove if you get on other surfaces so stay focused. He used a tools-all to remove the old stuff. Pool should be good for another 10 years. Cost was so much cheaper by buying deck-so-seal on line and a 6 pack for my son

Great product. Matches my stones very well. This is easy to mix and includes everything you will need - a pair of gloves.
