Cooks eggs perfectly
What an excellent pan. I've had it for 18 months and cooked dozens of eggs to perfection (5 minutes for soft yolks, 7 minutes for hard). It works brilliantly on our induction hob. The handle does not get hot - I can only imagine that other reviewers have gas - I'll never go back to gas now I've used induction! Of course the egg-cup handles get hot: these are immersed in steam so this is to be expected; and even so, I can pick them out with my bare fingers (quickly). The cups are metal, which speeds up the cooking time (but also makes them hotter to touch). They appear a little thin and cheap, but actually work just fine. The non-stick on the cups is thin (scratches easily - don't use metal on them), and I need to oil the cups with olive oil to achieve true non-stick, but this works really well. I use a plastic picnic knife to loosen the edge of the egg, which then falls out easily. This seems reasonable to me - does anyone have non-stick that works any better with egg white? It's great to be able to cook 6 eggs at once, and just as easy to cook one or two (but I'm buying a smaller egg pan too to make washing up easier when cooking just 2 eggs, and because with a growing family, sometimes 6 is just not enough!). The pan looks great and the glass lid is a bonus to see cooking progress without releasing the steam. Contrary to other reviews, steam does not escape if on a gentle boil - of course at a rolling boil the pressure builds and the steam will escape around the lid; but this just wastes heat and doesn't speed cooking. Perhaps I get more control with induction than others do with gas cookers? The pan itself has a reasonably solid feel, but is not too heavy to lift one-handed. The handle could be heavier gauge, but is OK. I recommend this pan, and would definitely buy it again (in fact I am - the 4-egg poacher)!

And about time too!
I've struggle for years with many different egg poaching thingy's none of which have ever been even marginally successful. I kind of resigned myself to just using a standard saucepan and hot water; nothing wrong with that of course other than the clean up afterwards, especially if you break an egg. I read the reviews, just like your reading this one and looked at the price wondering whether this would be just another waste of time and money and thought, well, just go for it - so I did. It works! I'll just type that again cos I've just eaten two of the best poached eggs I've ever made - It works! It arrived via the speed of light amazon service - still don't know how they do that - and on taking it out of the box what a bright shiny quality looking set - yep, I'm swayed by shiny things sorry - so putting its looks aside it has a real quality feel about it. The lid is good and heavy and fits well and the stainless is good quality. Everything fits and looks likes it will do what they say it will do. The cups are metal and have a non stick coating but, like everyone else and knowing how awkward eggs can be I still buttered the inside. Take the cups out for filling - and here's the only bind, they're a tad small or, maybe the birds out here in the country lay whopping eggs but either way you may not get all your white into the cup but no worry, put it in one your not using. The pan only needs a couple of inches of pre boiled water and off it goes. I wasn't sure how long they would take. Cheap purchases in the past and I've still been waiting after 10 minuets but this is a much better quality and after a gentle 5 mins on a gas hob voila, two perfect poached eggs. You will need to remove the cups with a cloth after you have switched the heat off and simply pour them out of their pre buttered 'nests' onto a lovely slice of wholegrain toast .......simple things eh! I have read that the handle can get hot? I have to wonder how long people have left the pan to boil for? If you used it for other cooking then yes, it would get hot and require a cloth but for five mins on a gas hob? Mildly and comfortably warm - perfect for a cold kitchen like ours. All in all a nice addition to the kitchen which works! At last!

Good at twice the price!
I rarely give 5 out of 5, products can surely always be improved.... but this definitely takes 4 stars no problem. I'd taken on board the tips from other reviewers regarding lining each cup with a smear of butter and it all adds up to to making the perfect poached egg, they just slip out. With a little care and common sense you shouldn't burn yourself at all ( you've got to remember, you are dealing with boiling water and steam after all!). To those that have said the cup nobs come loose, well mine certainly seem sturdy enough and I just make a point of checking their not coming loose at wash up. Quality glass lid, of course doubles up as a nice general pan, good stainless steal finish and works perfectly on our induction hob. Very pleased.

Great eggs and pairs as a standalone pan
This pan has become a staple in my kitchen with it's dual capabilities and exceptional performance. Crafting flawlessly poached eggs is a breeze with its non-stick poaching cups, offering consistent results and easy cleanup. But this pan is more than a one-trick pony – it excels as a standalone option too. Its robust construction and even heat distribution make sautéing and searing a delight. Its well-designed handle remains comfortably cool during use, adding to its user-friendly design. This versatile pan is a game-changer for both poached egg enthusiasts and everyday cooks seeking reliable kitchen tools. Streamline your kitchen with this all-in-one wonder – it's a decision you won't regret.

For those who are great at making poached eggs - move along. Nothing to see here. For the rest of you - BUY NOW!
Sooooo. This four hole egg poacher works fine as long as you don't forget how to use it. Pro-tip, make sure to put the lid on when poaching your eggs otherwise you might become the second person in the world ever to burn poached eggs. Also, take extra care when removing the little cups from the top to remove your eggs otherwise you might also burn your fingers because of the terribly placed air holes that happen to be where the finger grabs are too. Hot steam will be invisibly waiting in that little hole and will shoot out and get you like a cat waiting for it's next boop victim. Now I am a dab hand at poached eggs with this thing. No longer are my eggs willowly and looking like an orange sun wearing a massive wedding dress. Nope, they are perfect round circles with nicely soft cooked egg white with a spendidly solder dipping ready yolk. Clean up is also a doddle as its just water! Pro-tip number two. Oil these a little bit before use and always use relevatively fresh eggs to ensure a stable egg white and strong yolk so you won't end up with scrabled egg disks. No more pro-tips.... Just get poaching!

Eggcellent Egg Poacher!
Having poached eggs for years, my old cheap poaching pan (which was rubbish but all I had) finally gave up the ghost in October and I searched high and low for replacement. The Clearview poacher seemed ideal and could cope with mass egg production.....who only has one egg each when you're a family of four? Having six poachers is perfect and still fits nicely over the gas ring. We've used it regularly over the past two months and it has worked perfectly every time. Another reviewer's suggestion of using oil not butter works brilliantly and EVERYTHING goes straight into the dishwasher once used, coming out spotless every time! The heavy glass lid works well with its small ventilation hole and the eggs are easy to remove once cooked. The non-stick poaching cups do what they say and the pan is easy to hold and not too heavy. It took a couple of uses to work out exactly how long to cook the eggs for but we find 4 minutes cooks the white and leaves the yolk slightly runny. Just how we like them! One great way of getting an egg into each of my kids! Thanks Amazon :-)

Not non-stick!
Decent quality pan, nice and heavyweight, good size. The poaching cups are an ok size for medium to large eggs but the screw on handles keep unscrewing regardless of how tight you do them up. The cups aren't non-stick so stop describing them as that. Thats the most annoying thing, even using butter you have spoon the eggs out. Stick to silicone cups. Additionally, the central insert that holds the poaching cups is really thin and very very sharp so a pain to wash. You should wear marigolds to protect your hands from cuts. Very expensive for what is just a stainless pan. On the whole it does a good job of poaching an egg but its afterwards your issues begin. If the the cups were actually non-stick you'd have got 4 stars, if the cup holder insert wasn't so lethal to handle you'd have 5 stars. It really sucks when you can't contact the seller for support, specially through their dead support website. Buyers beware!

Top poacher, fairly priced.
Great poacher! We questioned whether it was worth spending a little extra over the cheaper alternatives on Amazon and unquestionably, it was. This is well made, was quickly delivered and has been used every week without fail since purchase - who knew we loved poached eggs and bagels so much? The poacher is very easy to use and the non stick cups are very easy to clean. I'd recommend a small amount of greasing before use to help the eggs slide out once cooked, but it isn't too difficult to get them out if you don't. For anyone considering buying a poacher, especially if you are trying to reduce the amount of oil or butter you need in cooking, this is a great choice. It is well made, easy to use/clean and is fairly priced.

4 minutes to ooey gooey egg perfection!
Absolutely perfect, amazing quality. Get water to boiling then to rolling simmer, I use some spray oil in the egg cups and have the eggs in separate containers ready to go. Pop the cups in, get them warm and pop in the eggs. 4 minute timer - perfect poached eggs with ooey gooey centre! Friends have the six cup one - they manage a motel and use this for breakfasts - that’s a huge endorsement for the durability and quality.
