Sometimes affordable LSI HBA card
I'm going to keep this brief because I'm kind of disappointed with the on going hype around the SAS2008 for raid and IT mode drives. This card gets hot just setting there with nothing plugged in. Flashing to IT mode in 2023 is a PITA. There's no really a recent or single place to go, and everyone throws their 2 cents on details like, "You must use the oldest, earlier version of file <blah>, trust me". EFI shell boot off a USB stick was a nightmare to get working on my server (yes, I put all the correct files in /efi/boot and /boot/efi), and after a weekend of messing around with a $160 card, I decided against using it because of the heat this thing pumps out. I switched to a JMB585 SATA card that's 1/2 the size and little to no heat with perfectly fine 5 drive performance. The only thing I'll miss is that this has external SAS ports. I'm hosting my drives separately in a drive case with its own power. With the SATA card I have to run the cables outside the case, and there are no SATA cards with back plate ports. If you're looking to run TrueNAS then you might require a card like this, but otherwise, I found it to be unnecessary and a waste of time.

Fonctionne parfaitement
Carte parfaite pour connection à une librairie LTO.Compatibilité avec Proxmox Backup server. A fonctionné sans aucun problème ni besoin de trifouiller les drivers.

Card seems defective
The card arrived promptly. in a sealed box. I checked firmware on it and was current. Unfortunately when i tried using the card it proved problematic. It would hang going into ROM config utility. it would also only see some of the drives. Os kernel was reporting firmware issues. i confirmed that my cables are fine using a different card. I spent much time testing the card on multiple servers and they all experienced issues. Ended up returning it and buying LSI Broadcom version

numerous device errors until crashes
Device wasn't able to sustain reads/writes for any amount of time. Logs throwing numerous errors. After a short period of time, the device removes itself from the pcie bus entirely. I tried 3 of these "same as" types. Went with the genuine LSI model and had zero issues.
