Cowhide Leather Welder Hood Welding Helmet Protective Gear Mask Work Cap with Neck Shoulder Drape,Solar Auto Darkening Filter Lens

Bought this as we keep getting jobs that have incredibly tight spaces to weld in. The leather is good. Double skinned round the head. The filter is an auto darkening one. Just note. There are no poly carbonate lenses supplied. You will need 3 of these. One for each side of the filter and one for the grinding lense. Mine came with filter and one glass lense. Please get rid of the glass one! The filter itself has good clarity. It's a 3 to 12 shade so adequate for most situations. The one thing that annoys me this is it's reaction time. It's a bit slow. You'll find yourself having to blink as you ark up. All in all for the number of times a year I'll use it, it's excellent value for money and does exacy what I need it to.

Bought this for when I’m doing not welding as I was sick of burning my neck etc works realy well I still use a generic mask for normal work will be hot in summer but for those nasty under car welding jobs it’s ideal

The reactor visor is crap and slow. Best rip it of and use a quality screen instead. The head cover does the job though.

Whoever stitches these together for the manufacturer needs to improve there quality control and make sure they are fit for purpose. Change the guide dog and come on, the front section with the actual welding lens is at nearly 45 degrees to the welding hood design. Impossible to use for intended welding unless your head is permanently at 6G to your body!

Saves a lot of burns on my head an neck area

Intended use was doing some undercarriage welding on vehicles from exhaust to frame repair. I use jack stands no lift available so the less bulky of a helmet the easier it is to see. The cowhide construction is OK the "auto darkening" lense is not. Recommended shades are anywhere from 11 to 13 and this is easily a shade 7, completely unusable for its marketed purpose. I will be keeping it and attempting to retrofit a proper auto darkening lense that actually goes to 11 as the hood is ok

Ok for those who want to use this in the Welding industry the lens is a 3/11 shade so it will definitely have to be replaced with a 13 or higher and its a very big Hood id be willing to bet its made to have on over a hard hat it just does not set on you right other then that its nice i mainly got it for heavy arc gouging but the lens is just far to light
