This is a consumable for resin printing. It can get damaged by bits of loose cured resin. It can lose it ability to release, it can get scratched, or cloudy, and heaven forbid, it can get a hole in it. It needs to be changed at some point. For the Elegoo printer, this process is fairly easy. You get the film, and complete instructions on how to change it. (This film is their version 2, which is an upgrade) You will need three different Allen wrenches. The sizes are in the directions. If you purchased the extra tanks, you will get those and some extra screws with them. As a side note, screws are easy to drop and lose. I recommend you get some extras. Also, T handle Allen wrenches are MUCH easier to handle than the L shaped type, which have a tendency to wind up on the floor during use. Extra tanks, film, and some tools are needed for resin printing so be prepared and have this stuff on hand.

I'm not afraid to admit I'm still learning the whole 3d printing thing. I accidentally scratched up my original FEP so it needed replacing. Just follow the instructions on the packaging and you're good to go.

I almost never make a review and have used amazon for years with weekly purchases. Just think ppl should know if you follow the directions on the box or at least the box I had you will ruin your fep and most likely have resin leak all over your screen or screen protector which will then be ruined if light hardens it on there to a full cure! I simply cut a regular sponge in half giving about 80mm square at 8mm or so thickness. Place frame around the sponge then the fep so that the sponge is holding the fep up in the center. Yes this will make it loose when you put the screws in but it must be in order to have proper tension when you put it on the resin tank. As you tighten it down to the tank it will get very tight like a drum head would be. Also worth knowing there is a protective film over the fep. Most ppl that have used fep before know this but everybody else wouldn't know nor should they obviously so it would be helpful to say so on the box or put a indicator of some sort on the actual peel off film. Very insulting to pay such a price for something and not have proper directions on the box which could harm the very product and about piss a person off enough to be done with resin printing altogether. Its an important thing for manufacture to have messed up by being lazy. Maybe by now it has been fixed on the box but mine clearly told you a way that simply can't work. Thankfully I had a protector over the screen but my week old printer almost went into the trash from the anger alone. 50 to 60hr a wk job and coming home to resin leaking out all over the printer isn't going to work for me. Gave it a two star only because when you create your on directions to put it on it works great. Oh in case a representative reads this how hard would it have been to modify the extruded inner part on the box to hold the frame and be the spacer for ppl so they don't have to hunt down a object to keep the space correct. I mean they are overpaying the least you could do is add some convenience to the process. Worth keeping in mind that no instructions would be better than the wrong ones. The fep as tight as your directions make it will rip on the first large print and the small ones will pull apart leaving a mess to clean off the feb I did it twice in a row so that makes me a professional at failing via your guidance.
