Great gift for any age!
Got this as a gift for our 10yr old nephew for Xmas. He loves it! He recorded everything over the holidays! We wanted to get him off the devices, but use this device to create his own โshowโ, that the family can edit. Easy to use and understand the functions. Gives you a โ2000โsโ vibe, handheld, with the tripod! So cool, and classic! Size is perfect for his hands and ours! The strap sizes to fit most!

Affordable camera
I needed a second camera because I want to do two camera shoots. I have not used it alot yet but the video quality is great even when I don't use 4K. In fact I don't want to use 4K because I can't edit it in my program. I was able to match the video quality to be equal to my 1000 dollar camera. I don't need long videos which is a good thing because it is awful on batteries. Now I know why they gave me two. I don't need good sound since I will use the sound from the wireless mic attached to the main camera. Good thing I don't depend on this for sound because the sound is horrible. I speak in a normal tone and notice on my editor that the audio is clipping (distortion). I have yet to find a setting that would lower the mic level. My model came with a "professional" mic. I was thinking that might improve the sound. Well it did not which means the problem is somewhere beyond the Microphones. So I recomend this camera to people like me who just need a second camera for 2 camera shoots, or for deaf people. or people who like silent movies. There is a setting to cut the sound off.

Nice video, lower quality stills
Works well for videos. Still images could be better but I didn't buy it for stills.

No rechargeable battery charger
I have not used it yet, but upon opening, I find it has 2 rechargeable batteries with no charger. It has a charging cable for the camera, but not to charge the batteries. Thanks a bunch.

The look of a the real thing with some utility....and some flaws.
I read the power packed reviews and have now played with this thing for a few hours and decided its an "almost." Now at this price I can't compain too much but the glowing reviews here must be excited about the inexpensive footage and not the build quality. It's clearly an imitation of better camera. The controls are sluggish and without the remote in one hand and using the built in controls in the other, navigation is cumbersome. The touch screen should have been just left off as depending on it just adds to the frustration. You touch and hold to turn off the screen buttons. So in about 80% of the cases, trying to activate a button using the touch feature just made the button dissapear. So you have to use the remote or built in physical buttons to get back to the one feature that is really random in my sample - the delete button. I took serveral still and small video clips just to get a feel for it and then it was a 10 minute ordeal to delete them. It was like there was a secret code of pushes on the screen and remote that changed with each attempt. You would think using the directional pad on the remote to 'Down" and "Right" would reach the trashcan. Nope. You would think when the can is on view in the screen that "Down" on the camera would highlight it. Nope. You would hope that pushing the actual can would prompt the "Confirm / Cancel" option. Nope, the buttons dissapear. So repeating this process and holding longer and/or shorter eventually I would get the delete option on the touch screen. Just not entirely sure how it happened and the directions are little help. So, I am going to regard this as a "disposable". If you loose the remote, which is probably a battery hog, this is going to be a real bother and I don't know about carrying a remote around as far as convienince is going to work.
