![The 40-Year-Old Virgin (XXL Version) [DVD] [2005]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Cp2IOJV5L._AC_SL3840_.jpg)

Andy Stitzer (Carrel) is 40 and seems to have the perfect life- a proud collection of action figures, toys and comic books, cushy job at an electronics store, smart apartment, close friends and a good attitude. However, the one thing missing in his life, something that he hasnt gotten round to doing, something that most people his age are quite experienced in he has never ever had sex not even by accident. His mates see this as their job to help out their buddy and to lure him away from lifelong chastity, and when he meets Trish a 40 year old mother of three it seems to be the answer to all their plans. The DVD also includs deleted scenes, gag reel, extended and alternate versions of scenes, waxing scene, audition tapes, rehearsals, extended song performances, Judd Apatows daily video diary and " my lunch with a porn star" where actor and producer Seth Rogan enjoys his lunch with various different porn stars. One for the ages
One of the greatest comedies of the past 20 years! Brilliant film from start to finish, and all the crisper in HD.

Very entertaining
I owned this film on DVD for a while and it was time to upgrade it to Blu Ray. This was well worth the buy. The picture is a whole lot sharper and Audio much better than the DVD. This film is a very entertaining comedy.

This film is a riot!
Love this film - Steve Carrell at his best. Although there's plenty of gross out humour the film is actually quite touching in places. Never get tired of seeing the waxing scene! Enjoy!

Hits the spot...
One of the best comedies of recent years thanks to the combined talents of Apatow, Carell, Keener, Rogen, Rudd, Lynch et al. Simple premise well executed with beefy supporting turns and a warm glow at its centre. Watch now.

OMG! Hilarious! Such a good movie. I am a big fan of Steve Carell - he is perfect in the role of the 40 year old virgin. (NOT for those who are offended by the f-bomb. Sometimes the language or humor can be a little much for those not accustomed to vulgar humor or very explicit language)

Andy (Steve Carell) works at an electronic store as a stock boy. Andy also plays video games and collects comics and rare toys. Andy's weekend of fun is buying the ingredients for an egg salad sandwich...and making it. Andy is 40 years old. Andy is also a virgin. Within the store that Andy works at are a bunch of guys who do what most guys do. Talk crap to one another (in a `friend' way), play poker, go clubbing, lookin for the chickys, and even going to see donkey shows. Well, Andy doesn't really fit in with the rest of the group, but one day the rest of the guys ask Andy to fill in at the poker game because one of the regulars won't be there. During the game the guys start talking about sex and women, and Andy makes the mistake of saying boobs feel like a bag of sand. Thanks to this mistake the guys figure out he's still a virgin. And instead of making his life a living hell, they decide to help him out in the ways they know how. This movie has made me laugh so many times and in so many spots. Judd Apatow (writer, director, and producer) has the exact same kind of comedy as me. And to me that comedy is just straight stupid and non-caring and perverse and quick witted and spontaneous...and ... and... well... there is just so much more. Thankfully Apatow has made it in the movie business because the networks sure didn't let him succeed on T.V. (Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared). Also I'm happy that Apatow has kept a lot of his actors from his T.V. shows and starred or co-starred them in his movies, Like Seth Rogen for instance. To me, Seth was just not that funny at all in Freaks and Geeks, but now he's one of my favorite actors for a comedy. I've seen The 40-Year Old Virgin around 20 times since it came out in theaters and I still laugh at it in many spots. The only bad thing I can say about this movie is that it just isn't for everyone. Some people's humor is just so far gone or to snobbish that they'll never like a movie like this. There is a lot of cussing, perverse jokes, and even nudity. And that's ok that it's not for everyone, but for the people that cant stand movies like this... how do you not know what you are getting into before you watch something like this? In the end, I would say BUY this movie if you love to laugh at some crude humor. Stay away if you don't. P.S. I would love to be in an Apatow movie.
