Time will tell
OK product and time will tell - did not like the securing fixings as the screw tightner did not seem to work. I ended up wiring it on to ensure did not blow off.

Wind noise, but does the job
Five stars because easy to fit, according to roofers anyway. And no birds in the house or trapped in the chimney's so far which is great. What I didn’t expect was the wind noise echoing down the chimney when it’s windy, and the tinny tap tap of the rain drops hitting off top of the cowl. ( I’m in a windy area) and it keeps most of the rain out the chimney. I think a chimney sheep for now would help, also when my wood burner is fitted Im sure that will muffle the sound of the wind. Over-all it does its job well.

Pesky Pigeons
I bought this to stop pigeons falling down the chimney. This as happened twice this year and at £50 a time to remove them from the back of the fire is no joke. Works fine, made of steel, good price and really secure to the chimney pot

Good price but may not be well made.
I bought this cowl to replace one that after 6 years rusted through where the vertical supports join on the cap. The harsh environment created by the smoke, heat and weather was too much for it. This is a different make but now I have seen it, it appear to be the same design and construction. Time will tell if this too corrodes. A more robust design and manufacture would perhaps justify a higher initial price together with a guarantee against corrosion. Clambering up roof to replace the cowl is not a task I relish as I have a slight fear of heights!

Good for big pots
We have unusually big chimney pots, 11 inches, and these cowls can be adapted to fit. Good product.
