works great - connects promptly via WiFi - just make sure you're plugging it into the correct port
This Foseal OBDII Scan Tool does exactly what it says - it plugs into the OBDII port in your vehicle, provides a private WiFi connection to your Smartphone, and allows you to use any of many compatible OBD apps to analyze vehicle data, performance stats, fault codes, and even (if the app allows) reset / clear errant fault codes (eg. O2 sensors in performance vehicles). On my iPhone, using the outstanding OBD Fusion app, the Foseal scan tool connected quickly, showed all vehicle data, and allowed fault code resets as promised. Of course - since this provides a private WiFi connection, if you want to watch vehicle performance while driving (RPMs, etc) then you won't have network connectivity for your other apps, streaming music, etc. This is just a limitation on how these WiFi scanners work. It's also why they are less-expensive and more reliable than their Bluetooth counterparts. In my vehicle, there are 2 "OBDII" ports - one of them is a standard OBDII port, and the other is reserved for the proprietary manufacturer diagnostic harness. If your vehicle has more than one port, make sure you connect this to the correct OBDII port, or it will not connect (even if the light is powered on).

Great product
I’m a DIY guy. 2008 Toyota 4Runner. This is a great product. Worked exactly how advertised. Saved me $2000 and I learned a TON about my vehicle in the process. 3rd party YouTube videos with this product on trouble shooting made this a breeze. This does take willingness to learn, note taking, and reading if you want to use this as a DIY car mechanic tool. This is not a problem solver, it’s a tool. One of many you will need to work on your car If you aren’t willing to do the mentioned above, this will most likely not save you any money This was extremely easy to use, has a great user interface via the app. I did purchase the extras for my specific vehicle. Totally worth every penny. Don’t bother spending extra money on a more expensive diagnostics tool unless you are getting the multi thousand dollar tools from snap on etc

Inexpensive and worked well after fast, prompt shipment
My scanner arrived ahead of promised time and in good working order. The literature is scarce so I needed to play with it for a while before getting it communicating with my android phone. Unfortunately my two cars, a Mazda hatchback and a Hyundai Santa Fe receive the scanner with its lights in the wrong direction so I could not see them blinking without doing some acrobatics. Other than this issue and the too-little literature the scanner worked well and as advertised. You can watch a few You Tube videos for more information. Quick hints that may help you: after downloading and installing the app (torque for android) on your phone, open it and go to the Settings, then to Adapter settings, then Connection and make sure it is on WiFi (mine was in Bluetooth when I first checked). Turn your car's engine on and stick the scanner in the port (American cars made after 1996 should have it). After a short while the scanner connected and was communicating with my phone. You may need to spend a little time with the software and maybe online to learn its features. Overall, a good little device that does not cost much but can help take the guessing out of any issues and save a bit of money.

Easy to Use; Works as Advertised
I've used the Foseal OBDII scanner along with OBD Fusion (iPhone) to scan/monitor five different vehicles: a Honda CRV, a Toyota 4Runner, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, a Mazda MX5, and even a Cobra kit car. Worked perfectly on every one. Was able to scan and clear diagnostic codes and monitor various engine operating parameters right on my phone screen. Very happy with this device, especially for the price paid (remember when OBDII scanners cost hundreds of dollars?). Total investment was only $30, $20 for the Foseal unit and $10 for the phone app. Performs all the essential functions for not a lot of money. Would definitely buy again.

Does not read trouble codes for 2011 Dodge Charger and ZERO support
Let me preface this review with 32 years of engineering experience, with a Masters degree in engineering, have taught college level engineering, and several years as a racing mechanic in my youth. Usually I am pleasantly surprised with something that works perfect, out of the box, especially if it is so well designed that do not even need the manual. Thus I am not too concerned when I need to read the manual or reach out for technical support on a device. How I rate a device depends a big part on both the usability AND the quality of support. In this case Foseal's support STINKS!!!! My 2011 Dodge Charger, R/T, AWD, Hemi had a known issue. One, or more of the speed sensors were not working and the trouble code had been confirmed on my dash as well as confirmed on a professional mechanic's scanner. I have been looking for a less costly scanner that I could use on my smartphone or tablet. Foseal SEEMED to be a good choice based on the reviews. I was doubtful based on the price point but willing to give a try..... The setup/install was NOT 100% plug and play but not too complex either. I did have to read the instructions though. I decided to use OBD Fusion and Car Scanner as the software interface on an iPhone 6 Plus. Once the device and my phone connected both apps displayed near real time "gauges" and such. I could see RPM, temps, speed, etc. Thus if that was all I wanted I would have been happy. But most of us would expect, that if there was something wrong with the vehicle, it would let us know what the trouble code(s) was(were) and in, hopefully, semi-plain English. Instead this device, on BOTH apps gave my car a clean bill of health. WAIT...WHAT? This is why I decided to test this on my car...BEFORE I repaired it. My first thought was I needed to make parameter changes in the software. After two hours of research and several changes...still ZERO trouble codes, in both OBD Fusion and Car Scanner. So I sent a polite request to Foseal's support email (could not find a number to call or chat) on 5/24/2019. I asked they help me determine why it gave me a "false positive" clean bill of health and assistance in trouble shooting it. I waited six days, checking both my inbox and Junk/span folders daily. ZERO RESPONSE. So I sent another email with the previous one included on 6/1/2019. In this email I gave them 48 hours to respond before I would give a negative review and request a refund. Today is 6/3/2019 and still no response. Thus I give them a failing grade on both their device for its main purpose AND their WORTHLESS support.

A must have for buying a car. Used on many private sale test drives until I found the perfect vehicle. You can check current codes, historical + pending. Plus you can clear codes if you want. Luckily havent had to use it for troubleshooting a engine management on one of my motors yet but sure it will do the job. Alongside this you can plug it in and read real time boost pressure and other temperature sensors. Great piece of kit.

Very bad and defective product. Started malfunctioning my ECU. Several lights started turning on and off. Car got stuck in first gear. Had to turn off the car for a while to reset the malfunction. Not recommended at all. Stay away.
