Hello. I bought this two years ago. I did have an electric cable mower, I enjoy gardening I bought this mower it made a better job of cutting the grass and it give me exercise I am 91 years old. Andrew

This is a great mower if you have a smallish area to cut. It is well build, easy to assemble and easy to adjust the cutting height for the first cut of the season. I love the low noise, eco-friendly aspect and easy push of this mower. The cutting area is a good practical width (I wouldn't go smaller) and cuts quite well out of the box but, the only criticism I have, is that the blades on the cylinder are not sharp enough. Even with the fine adjuster the cutting paper test was pretty poor. As with many tools that need a sharp blade it is common to have to sharpen before it's first use. Sharpen it, keep it oiled to prevent rust and it I think it will last for years.

After reading some negative reviews on this mower, I was sceptical but took a chance and got one anyway. And I am really glad I did. This thing is absolutely brilliant (and for reference, I have been cutting lawns since I was about 12 years old using a wide range or electric and fuel mowers - that is 33 years experience)! I have absolutely no idea how people are saying it does not work, or is not sturdy enough, or the tightening knob will break, or whatever else they find to moan about. I tested this on my lawn when it was damp, and it did a perfect job at the lowest height setting. On dry lawn, it does an even better job! Compared to my old electric mower, this thing is so incredibly easy to use. I can't believe it took me this long to make the switch to a reel mower. One negative point I will mention however, which is the grass collection attachment that you have to purchase separately. Although it does its job very well at collecting the grass, it also completely undermines the manoeuvrability of the mower. It was an EXPENSIVE accessory that now gathers dust in the shed. When cutting the grass once a week (as you should) the cuttings are small enough to not really make the lawn look any worse for it by just staying there. Personal preference applies. Where before, it was an absolute chore getting the grass cut, now it is so much more effortless and actually quite enjoyable. And my lawn has never looked better. Seriously. I would highly recommend this to anyone with a small, medium or even large lawn.

Portable, light and the cut is sharp to say the least. easy to adjust cutting height and cutting plate, no effort using this mower, I'd recommend spraying the blades with 3 IN ONE Ptfe oil

Great cut, quiet (obviously!), environmentally friendly BUT handle comes out when you pull the mower backwards. Very frustrating having to constantly push it back in.

Likes Easy to assemble Easy to push and the blades are really sharp I have 50 sqm lawn and it took less than 15 mins overall it's a great product Dislikes. / Improvement The bolt which connects the handle together should be an inch longer. I see previous buyers already wrote their review not sure why Gardena still haven't fixed the issue :(

Tout d'abord le montage est un jeu d'enfant, ensuite il faut bien réglé la coupe pour que les lames ne frottent pas sur la pièce métallique qui va agir avec rouleau hélicoïdale avec un effet de ciseaux, et je dois dire qu'une fois bien réglé ça vous coupe une feuille de papier comme un rasoir, c'est très impressionnant... en ce qui concerne la tonte du gazon faire le réglage au plus haut pour un premier passage en ayant retiré toutes les hautes herbes... j'ai été bluffé par la facilité et l'efficacité de cette tondeuse, s'en est presque ludique, enfin je m'amuse comme un gamin, le plus c'est que ça ne dérange personne, pas de bruit, c'est trop bien... je la recommande à 100%

Hallo! Ich bin Hausbesitzer und damit auch Rasenpfleger. Gepflegt werden muss ein zweigeteiltes Rasenstück mit ca. 200 qm Gesamtfläche. Das habe ich bisher eher mit wenig Begeisterung getan. Zum Einsatz kamen bisher nur klassische Billig-Elektrorasenmäher aus dem Baumarkt. Vor ca. 2 Jahren habe ich mir dann bei einem Diskounter, der seine Filialen in Nord- und Süd einteilt, einen handbetriebenen Spindelrasenmäher gekauft. Viele meiner Kumpels hatte mir zu solch einem Teil geraten, da man sich den ganzen Aufwand für Kabel rausräumen, abwickeln, hochheben, aufwickeln usw. spart. Stimmt ! Aber ich konnte nicht verstehen, warum alle so begeistert von Spindelrasenmähern sind. Das Mähen an sich war mühsam und kraftraubend, der Mäher hakte permanent ein, das Mähergebnis war trotz mehrmaligem Überfahren gar nicht gut.... Also rostete das Ding irgendwann in der Ecke vor sich hin. Aber die Idee mit dem schnell den Mäher rausholen und kurz mal mähen ließ mich nicht los. In der Diskussion mit den mir bekannten Spindelmäherfans stellte sich heraus, daß ALLE Markengeräte im Einsatz hatten. Also hab ich mal ein bisserl mehr Geld in die Hand genommen und es mit dem Classic 400 von Gardena probiert. Lieferung wie fast immer über Amazon ruck zuck. Verpackung super, Aufbauaufwand ca. 5 Minuten. Und los ging's. Da es bei uns seit fast 1 1/2 Wochen ununterbrochen regnet und erst heute mittag etwas aufgehellt ist, hatte ich es mit relativ hohem und nassen Gras zu tun. Schon nach der ersten Bahn quer durch den Rasen war ich Fan. Ich habe mit der zweitniedrigsten Schnitthöhe angefangen, der Mäher ging durchs Gras wie Butter, das Schnittgut flog nur so hinten raus. KEIN Vergleich zu dem Billigteil. Der erforderliche Kraftaufwand ist vernachlässigbar, das Schnittergebnis suuuuuuper. Kein Halm blieb stehen, alles total gleichmäßig. Der Mäher ist leicht und wendig, man kommt auch sehr einfach in unzugänglichere Ecken. Ich hatte den kompletten Rasen innerhalb von 15 Minuten gemäht. So lange brauche ich beim Elektrorasenmäher alleine für den Kabelsalat und das Rein- und Rauswurschteln aus dem Schuppen. Ich kam zwar ordentlich ins Schwitzen, da ich entsprechend Gas gegeben habe, aber Spaß hat's gemacht!!! Ich war so begeistert, daß ich dann im Anschluss gleich noch mal mit 12 mm nachgemäht habe. Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, daß die Begeisterung bei mir so groß ist, daß ich zumindest am Anfang 2 x die Woche mähen werde. Kleiner Wermutstropfen: Man saut sich ordentlich ein, da das Gras nur so hinten rausfliegt und auf den Beinen landet. Aber war hat schon seinen guten Anzug beim Rasenmähen an? Außerdem bleibt am Zaun ein ca. 5-7 cm breiter Rand stehen, da die Spindel logischerweise nur zwischen den Rädern mäht. Also muss ich dann doch so alle 2 Wochen den Kabelsalat in Kauf nehmen um den Fadentrimmer in Einsatz zu bringen Die Reinigung ist nicht ganz ohne, aber wenn man das Teil 1-2 mal im Jahr auseinanderbaut und ordentlich reinig und das selbe noch mal im Herbst tut, sollte das ausreichen. Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung!!! Ich bin Spindelmäherfan.

Only a few parts to easily assemble then it's push and play. Cuts well, is easy to push and turn, and removes the wasted time and hassle of fuel cans or electricity cables. I haven't used a push mower in over 30 years and hadn't appreciated how much easier they are to use in their current versions. I'm keeping the grass fairly long as the climate here is 40 degC so I've simply used one of the pre-set adjustments that is very easy to move between. I read other reviews before purchase that outlined the method and tool(s) needed to set to low cutting heights, but I'm not going to tinker with it and will continue to use at the pre-set adjustable cutting heights. Stores away easily enough and is light enough to move into the garden shed without any bother. Overall, I'm happy that I took the decision to buy this push mower.

Great for flat terrain and frequently maintained grass. It jams on any kind of bumps and can’t mow taller grass, so keep that in mind before purchasing.
