Contigo Autoseal West Loop Stainless Steel Travel Mug with Easy Clean Lid, 16-Ounce, Stainless Steel

I have spent many hours researching travel mugs, so I could finally have a leak free hot latte every morning when I commute to work. This was the winner. With this leak free AUTO SEAL mechanism , a Mercedes of coffee mugs. It was expensive too, minimum £25 so I decided to wait an order one on AMAZON US half the price including the delivery . I even ordered extra one for my partner. While I was waiting I bought a budget HIWILL Double Walled Vacuum Insulated Travel Coffee Mug, for ten pounds. I chose the smaller size for my son and was using it while waiting for Contigo. Yes it was too small for a large latte but leak proof and hot for hours!!! When contigo 2.0 arrived it was impressive but heavy. The auto seal works well and it's easy to clean. It's bigger than Hiwill but that's what I wanted, Unfortunately coffee loose the temperature very quickly. Having been using the hiwill I could feel huge difference. No more hot coffee on my desk when I arrive to work. So disappointed....I am considering sending them back , but it will be to US ... UPDATE: After few hit and misses with latte temperature and rinsing the cup with boiling water to make it hot I have no issues with the right temperature for at least 3 hours ! A win!

Keeps my coffee hot or at least warm enough to drink for hours. I find my coffee still hot after 5 hours and warm enough after 7. The lid has a toggle to lock the flash to prevent accidents. I find the press button to open the drinking aperture to work well. I opted for the stainless steel finish, because I thought the others might get tatty quite quickly. After 4 months it still looks fine. The flask is robust and I have had no leakage. There is an advisory not to put the flask inside your bag, so I guess the manufacturers are not 100% confident. It is easy to clean, with the locking mechanism designed to open up specifically for that purpose. And it also fits the drinks holder in my car perfectly. I am happy.

This is great for the car as it need the button to be pressed ot drink so no spilled hot coffee and the seal is ecxellent. I have to make my coffee cooler now as this keeps it too hot as the insulation is excellent. UPDATE.update May 2025 now 1 jan 2026 still going strong. I bought this flask back in 2018 and use it several times most days at least 330 days a year. Its been dropped loads of times and the base fell off, this was a metal cap fitted for aesthetics as the flask is still retaining the heat and the mechanics of the no spill top are still going well . It’s a well made piece of kit and served me very well. Buy it for life

I have to say, from a thermal mug standpoint, this has to undoubtedly be one of the best or the best I've ever used temperature wise however when it comes to cleaning it isn't the easiest due to the complicated sealing mechanism. It is in every way perfect for keeping drinks both warm and cold ensuring neither leak however it can be a pain to clean. This isn't so much if you clean it instantly after use however being in the real world this isn't always possible. Having left it at work accidentally over weekends come Monday morning it takes me a good while to thoroughly clean. Overall I'd recommend the mug however be prepared to give it a good clean every now and then because it will most definitely need it and a dishwasher won't help you. Most other thermal mugs I've used have been dishwasher friendly but lack the thermal element, this is the opposite. You can't have it all ways I guess.

This is my second one of these and they really are the best. No leaks whatsoever, keeps hot for 2 hours or more and warm enough to drink for up to 5 hours and easy to clean too. They are right when they say the painted versions are not suitable for the dishwasher but I thought what the h3ll. After a while the black paint started chipping off after being constantly put in the dishwasher so I purchased another and this time i got the stainless one which is guaranteed to be top rack DW proof. So if you want to put all of it in the dishwasher I recommend the stainless one.

None of the locally made cups suited my needs, this looked perfect. It arrived today, I have given it a short test. The lid fits easily, it doesn't leak and the drinking button is easy to press. The best thing about this cup is that there is no spill around the sip hole when drinking. The slight downside is the with it being American it doesn't fit our cup holder in the car, however I realised this when buying so I am not marking it down for this issue. If you want a cup you can use when driving, this is the one. I have been using this for a few days now, wait a lot longer than the recommended 3 mins before putting the lid on or add cold water, lesson learnt, a burnt lip, this cup is great

Love these travel mugs. They may be pricey but well worth it, this is the 3rd one Ive purchased now so all the family have their own! If you intend to drink your freshly made hot drink in the next hour or so then allow it to cool before putting it in the mug. Seriously it stays scorching hot for hours. No leaks, not had need to use the 'lock' function as the standard seal has been sufficient. Keeps cold drinks cold too without that condensation forming on the outside making everything else wet. Easily cleaned too, the lid is safe on the top shelf in the dishwasher not that we have one and i've not felt the need of any 'deep cleaning', there's no seals for stale coffee to lurk behind etc. The other half 'wears' his in a pocket on his work trousers, its survived the drop test too.

I wanted a second as I'm disabled and the "lock / anti spill" ability is perfect for me. I ordered this in December 18 (6 months ago) and at the time ordering from Amazon US ( through Amazon) as above was about £8 cheaper, so as it was still Amazon i ordered it. It worked fine but seemed a slightly different shape to my original ( so are these an older model?) Today, 6 months later a part of the lid fell out and now it will not lock / auto seal, so it is no longer safe for me and no longer works as it is advertised. I don't remember if the above warning about the warranty not being valid was there when I ordered. I love my original but it is not worth ordering this from Amazon US. Also in the U.S. the replacement lid is $7, here it is almost the same cost as a new mug. These are not cheap so I expect them to last more than 6 months not counting the environmental impact.
