This item works very well. It has an on off switch that is easy to operate. I recommend placing the device on the door knob then switching it on with as little movement to the device as possible. I was able to do this without triggering the alarm. My experience with it indicates it is very sensitive. When I would approach the door knob to turn it off, before even touching anything, the alarm would go off. Because I was already reaching to turn it off I was able to turn it off quickly and easily. It is loud and is easily heard providing the peace of mind I was seeking. I was happy with its performance and price. The only negative is that it doesn’t come with clearly written instructions.

I ordered 2 of them, when am I going to learn! You get what you pay for I guess. Both units arrived "taped-shut," which should have been a RED FLAG. After I set them up, Neither unit would stop until I shut them off! They were cheap so sending them back is a waste of my time and money, but, please, no one should buy these!

A small and very loud alarm! It works at the first touch of your door knob . I have it on my doorknob all the time. The alarm goes off long enough for you to check who is at your door and then decide to answer or not.

These are a lot better than others I've found online. I bought a few of these to convert to Rem Pod-like device for my daughter and her friends. In their original state, they are very sensitive. Your hands get a few inches away from the outside door handle and it activates the siren. It stops when the hand is pulled away. Converted to a Ghost hunting device, it's awesome. I keep the collapsible antenna down to about 14" so it's not "too" sensitive. At full extension, the antenna gives it a range of about one meter. Those that say the siren is too loud, a piece of duct tape over the outer speaker port cuts it significantly. 2 pieces stacked cut it even more. The Rem Pod-like conversion is available on YouTube, super easy and cheap. My total cost was about $14. I docked one star because the battery compartment is crap. Thin tin contacts and a tight fit, be super careful when installing a battery so as not to break the cheap assembly. That's the weak spot with these.

I ordered 4. They operated as designed straight out of the package. MAKE SURE you install the 9 volt battery properly. The device WILL short out if the battery is installed wrong. After testing, I took them apart and modified each one with a larger retractable antenna and a LED light for when it is triggered. (videos are available via the internet for the build) Basically this is a Theremin device, the same as much much more expensive REM Pods. This will save you several hundred dollars if you are doing ghost investigations.

Terrible, difficulty putting battery in and it doesn’t work…
