An awesome bit of kit
The spliter as delivered in good condition 2 days after ordering - excellent service. Easy to assemble on to its stand, although you do need two people to safely position it and align the bolt holes as it is pretty heavy (45Kg). In use it is very easy to use and works brilliantly. I had a large number of old apple logs - iron hard and full of grain twists and knots - which I he deemed 'unsplittable' using an axe. The splitter dealt with these with ease, and the Duoblade makes the process very quick. An awesome bit of kit, and I wish I had bought one yards ago... One minor criticism - the wheels on the stand are really too small and narrow for something of this weight, so they sink into soft ground making it hard to move the splitter about on anything other than a smooth hard surface. Overall though, an excellent tool.

Excellent and simple to use
This piece of kit makes cutting your logs effortless. Very sturdy. Some folks have suggested its hard to put together. It is heavy and a bit of a challenge to get the bolts lined up. It is NOT a one person job to stand mount at least 2, and 3 would be better. You only have to do it once. changing the oil is a 2 person job as well as one has to balance the device as the other undos the drains. A slightly better design would have a balancing foot at the drain end. I would not recommend you support it on the operating lever cover as it is not strong enough to do that so you have to pick the heavy end up and doing a balancing on the two moving wheels. Very Happy

Boys toy, great machine, spoilt only by the terrible instructions.
If you are considering buying a log splitter then I guess you have a lot of wood to split. If that is the case you don’t want to be bent down low for ages using a log splitter otherwise you will have an aching back very quickly. That being the case my first advice is that you MUST buy the stand with this log splitter. The stand that the manufacturer supplies is clearly taylor made for this log splitter and once fitted it is great. It is a perfect fit, is sturdy and there’s a nice touch in that it has fitted wheels making it easy to move the splitter about (it is extremely heavy so the wheels make life so much easier manoeuvring it.). Sadly there is a problem with regards to the stand, the installation instructions are terrible. I ended up putting the instructions to one side and working it out by trail and error. Not ideal for a product which costs so much and such a School boy error on the part of the manufacturer. Once the stand was fitted (it took me about an hour to get to that stage) I tried to follow the splitter operating instructions. Again they are terrible. The wording is very ambiguous and I ended up resorting to a third party review on YouTube to figure out when the bleed screw needed to be open and when it needed to be closed. All the instructions needed to say was “Always have the bleed screw open while operating the machine. Always close the bleed screw when not is use.” Once I had deciphered the splitter operating instructions (with a lot of help from YouTube!) everything was great. I put on my goggles and spent a while in my garden happily splitting wood that has sat in my log store for three years with me avoiding splitting it because it was just too tough for my axe. Soon I had split the equvilant of at least two builders bags of logs. This splitter (the 7 ton Forest Master model) literally ate its way through a variety of logs including some really thick pieces of extremely tough Hawthorne. The splitter was easy to use and I can’t fault the machine. If the manufacturers were to re-write the instructions for stand installation and the user instructions (which would be a small job) then I would say this is a brilliant buy, if they did that I would give it 5 out of 5 stars, until then it only gets 4. Top tips. The bleed screw should always be open during operation. The bleed screw should be closed any time you are not operating the machine. Write a reminder to open the bleed screw on the body of the machine with a Sharpie so it’s the first thing you see when get the machine out for use. Buy the stand. Allow yourself time to work out how the stand fits, because the manufacturers instructions are very poor. A bit of thinking and trial and error is far more use than the provided instructions. A great machine, let down only by the instructions.

The picture says it all. A great log splitter that is easy, fun and a lo t more safe than splitting by hand.
Purchased based solely on the reviews here. Emailed the seller to tell them to leave it in conservatory round the back if not in and that's what happened. I was like a child with a new toy - I didn't read any instructions. I ripped the box apart and plugged it in, and put a couple of big boys through while it was sat on the floor. Cowabunga this thing rocks. I screwed the stand together and mounted the unit so it was at comfortable height and got to work. I just couldn't stop, and now I have a mountain (and I mean a mountain) of logs. Some of the massive ones did explode in a rather exciting fashion, but they either fly directly to the side or slightly forwards, due it would seem to the less narrow nature of the splitting wedge on the pump end, rather than the thinner static red wedge at the end of the machine. The only problem I had was one log didn't split all the way through, and when I took it off the wedge it closed up on the end of my fingers tight enough that I couldn't get them out! So keep that lump hammer and twisted wedge handy as that saved my bacon. Seriously though, if you have to twist a log off the wedge that's not quite split don't stick your fingers in any open parts of the log! This is a powerful tool that treated with love and respect will split logs for years to come. The stop is very handy as if you set it to about 35cm it will be much quicker and use less power while processing various sizes. If it's longer than 35cm then you have a bigger log burner than I do... ;) I'm now building a massive log store as I need the garage back... The last thing I would say is that you typically cut better shaped and smaller sized logs that will make for more efficient burning. If chopping by hand then you will be more tempted not to make them as small.

Duo Cut
This machine is excellent. Having two blades increases the cutting force.so you can cut bigger logs with a faster easier cut.i found it easy too cut kindling from your logs..its so accurate that you can cut slivers of wood. The safety cage is good with a work bench top. The only gripe is that if you have big fingers then putting some of the nut and bolts in are impossible. You need someone with dainty hands.

Very effective log splitter
This dual bladed hydraulic log splitter worked very effectively on the logs we split with it. It's heavy but pretty easy to assemble with 2 people it came with a full guard, a stand which I think is essential if you want to avoid backache. It seems very sturdy and looks like it will last.

Awesome
An honest review based on 2 weeks worth of use. Firstly the product arrived quickly, very sturdy packaging and encouragingly heavy. I bought the version with the stand attachment, which is a definite 2 person job and involves simple nuts, bolts and some patience. With regards to operation, this is a two handed safety mechanism which means that you have to depress a button mounted next to the motor whilst pushing a lever at the rear of the splitter. This is a sensible safety feature which means that both hands have to be free of the moving parts to operate and avoids misuse. The splitter also has an adjustable setting which stops the axe head from retrieving all the way back to its start position, so that you save time when splitting logs. Easily splits logs and no issues at all. Quality product would recommend.

Great piece of kit but with a few issues to note
This is a really powerful and easy to use log splitter and it's highly recommended after 6 months of fairly heavy use. There are a couple of things that could be better though: The locking collar, which you can see in the first image, is really poorly designed. It screws onto a round bar......so needless to say it tends to slip a lot. The bar should have a machined flat side for the collar to lock against or the locking device should be a sprung loaded pin and plunger that locates into various holes in the bar. The two black side plates have allen headed bolts but these bolts are too small for the hole in the plate and you will find after heavy use that they get pushed out. I fitted larger washers as you can see in the white circle of the second image. The wheels on the trolley are solid plastic, which means that if you are wheeling it about and you come across a piece of gravel the wheel will jam. Rubber would have been more forgiving in my opinion. Lastly I am not sure why there is an 11cm gap between the splitting wedges when the unit is at full extended length? To me that gap is too large, and I am always using a second block of wood to get the extra travel to split a piece of wood. Maybe that gap could be adjusted, but I cannot see how.
