Not Just For Kids!
What an amazing little thing. When I realized I only paid $8.00 for the best toy under the tree, I felt a little foolish. It hasn't been stuffed into a stocking yet but has been played over and over again. Not by my 12 year old son who I bought it for but by my 17 year old daughter, her friends, and I must admit, by me. The biggest fascination for me is wondering how they do it. The questions asked don't seem to pertain to your item until the end when it guesses correctly. On 10 items, this baby guessed 9 correct in 20 questions and needed a few extra questions to guess the 10th. The bad part about this "toy" is I had to go out and buy more for some of the older kids on my list. Some being in their 20s I might add. It's just too much fun. It's so nice to see a 2006 Toy of The Year Award that actually earns the title and costs under $10.00. You just can't beat it!

20 QUESTIONS - A guessing game.
'20 QUESTIONS" is a great fun game for kids eight and up. The toy is no bigger then a baseball, very light and it appears to be breakable if dropped. None the less, it is the best game/quiz mystifying mind-boggling toy with an enormous data base I've ever seen. My ten year old daughter thinks it's the best game of its kind. She asked a series of questions and all were guessed. Some of the words that the game guessed were: Snow, Basketball, hamburger, balloon, and leopard. I played it myself and it guessed my word (mirror) right away! The toy can be played in the car in the dark - it has its own light, it's little and light weight for small little hands. Unbelievable entertaining for under $15 dollars. My daughter and her friend played it for hours while I was running some errands around town. They think the ball has a recorder inside, so they whispered the words to each other so that the toy will not guessed it as quickly. I think it's the best toy ever. You will not get bored with it. The only bad thing about playing the toy is the screams of amazement from the girls when the toy guesses their word. I definitely recommend it.

Disappointed in Customer Service
ABSOLUTELY LOVE the game, but the backlight on the screen does not work. It has never come on. Customer Service told me that they were sold out of this item & were unable to replace it. No other compensation was even discussed or offered. Thank You, Les~

Better for older kids and adults
This game is so much fun, especially since you can enjoy it playing alone or with others. For me it guesses nearly everything I throw at it. For my 12 year old it guesses maybe 75%. For my 9 year old it is more difficult, but still fun. It really depends on what it is she is trying to have it guess. Any household object, domestic animal or sports related object it will guess, but she has a harder time when it comes to wild animals and some other more obscure objects. She still has fun with it, and tends to ask others to help her with some questions she does not know the answers too. This helps her learn. One other thing I like about it is its size. It is so small that you can take it anywhere.

4-1/2 stars -- Addictive is an understatement
I had never heard of this hand-held game before until my brother showed up with it this past Sunday. 20Q (meaning "twenty questions") was apparently mentioned in a USA Today article, and it's basically a game where you think of literally any object, and the computer asks you twenty very unique questions about the object. There are four answers you can give: YES, NO, SOMETIMES, or UNKNOWN. And the first question is always whether what you're thinking of is an animal, vegetable, mineral, or other or unknown object. This game may not sound all that exciting to some people, but when you pick it up, I guarantee you won't be able to put it down. Apparently I'm not the only person that thinks so, considering that it seems to be sold out everywhere but on here. The only real problem with it is that it doesn't have an easy-access battery case -- you actually have to take a screwdriver and unscrew the case. But other than that, 20Q is a great game to have -- and it wouldn't be a bad gift to give to someone, either. Anthony Rupert

Love the game
Love the game! Grandsons did too! Do not like that these are not new games per se. I bought 2 and one came with 2 new batteries in a plastic baggy just in case it did not work which told me it was old but still in orig package.

Strangely Addictive
I just ordered my third 20Q game (I gave away the first two). My 4 year old granddaughter and I play with it together - she thinks of an item, I ask the questions and she responds. I see her little mind working as she identifies the answers to the questions - and the sillier the questions are, the better! Great for developing her thinking/reasoning skills. We love it when the 20Q ball gets it right (which is the case most of the time), and we feel a sense of victory (with high-fives) when we stump it! Also, I've enjoyed tossing it to random people at family gatherings, and then just watching... You see them pressing buttons as they answer questions, and typically after a while you see a surprised look with raised eyebrows when the 20Q ball guesses the object correctly!

THIS TOY REFUSES TO LOSE!
The 20 question handheld game is amazing to me. I have tried to make him guess all sorts of objects, such as snowflakes, barbie doll, Xmas ornament, the sky, an angel, etc. I can go on forever. This toy guesses what you are thinking at least 99 out of 100 times. It's incredible. The only thing I was thinking of was a wishing well, which he did not guess. I thought at first it was voice activated. While playing with my daughter we would say the word out loud. Then we began to write down what we were thinking on paper because I thought it might be voice activated. This toy guessed it anyway. If you haven't tried 20 questions, it is a MUST get item. I had originally bought this for my daughter for Xmas and we both have lots of fun with it and are amazed most of the time. I even find myself playing with it alone. THIS TOY REFUSES TO LOSE!!

Great fun for kids and big kids alike!
For as long as I can remember we've always played "20 Questions" in my family so when I saw this whilst looking for a present for my parents I just had to get it. My mum was somewhat skeptical about it at first and was convinced it was never going to guess what she was thinking about but was amazed when it got it spot on. Even my dad, who was never particuarly a fan of "20 Questions" (mainly because he was never any good at it!) found it amazing, possibly because of its gadgety nature. I've nicknamed it "Columbo" because it doesn't always look like it's asking anything relevant to what you're thinking about and you start to wonder if it has the faintest idea at all but it very rarely gets it wrong at the end! OK, so it has its limits and it is prone to a slight American bias (e.g. guesses a cup of coffee but wouldn't know what a cup of tea was!) but you've got to be fair with it as it's never going to know everything. Considering it's essentially just a plastic ball with a few electronic bits inside I still find it pretty amazing and I'm considerably older than the manufacturer's recommended age group! :)

Defective product, horrendous service
Do NOT but from this seller. The product was sent as a gift for my nephew and after the first day of use, the screen was illegible. They insisted it was supposed to be that way (yah right), then finally said they would send a replacement. I discovered the replacement never arrived and after 2 more months of correspondence and requests for a refund, they told me "sorry, it's been over 30 days and there is nothing we can do." Amazon.ca is stepping up to the plate as usual, which is why I am a loyal Amazon customer, but this third party seller is not worthy of this marketplace.

How to keep a middle aged guy from working!
Having missed the postal delivery, prior to starting my saturday 'chores' I went to the post office to collect my Amazon goods. It was my 20Q and as for my saturday schedule - that flew right out of the window. This little plastic ball of electronics has occupied me constantly for 2 hours. I have no idea how it fathoms it's answers out from the questions it asks - but it does. I did manage to fox it with circular saw but it sort of got close by guessing a katana. And how the hell it worked out electric guitar totally beats me! All in all this is a toy which will keep you amused just trying to beat it. You'll not learn anything but that's not the point. This is purely for enjoyment. And it's worth every penny! Treat yourself - it's less fattening than an easter egg as well
