Died in less than one year
Didn't even last one year before the light failed. I installed a new light, but that didn't work. This means the ballast is what failed. In my opinion, a name brand should use higher quality parts that don't fail within one year.

Excellent for managing incursions by tiny flying insects
I originally bought this zapper to hang in our unfinished basement, where we see the occasional trapped paper wasp in the spring. It's not super great for attracting and killing wasps (and they're large, meaty insects, so they get stuck in the grilles), but it's been a lifesaver for dealing with the small, annoying gnats common in our region throughout the hot summer months. I unplugged this zapper over the winter, and didn't realize just how useful it was until I wasn't using it anymore. I was seeing multiple gnats daily, driving me mad with their zippy little flying around my face and workspace. We thought they were fruit flies, but after removing all possible food sources (and failing to trap any with wine broken with dish soap), I realized they were coming in from the outdoors at night and getting trapped. This thing has launched an all-out massacre on the gnats who set up camp in my basement. I still do see the occasional gnat, and when I clean the tray, I have to be careful to vacuum it out as I remove it, because there are invariably a few survivors jumping around among the dead, but overall, I am really happy with this zapper's performance. If you use it outside, it's going to get gross very quickly, so keep that in mind. If you plan on using it in a screened-in porch or other enclosed area, however, it's great for killing common small flying insects. The white plastic panels covering the sides have small enough holes that this zapper doesn't seem to be very good for large-bodied insects like wasps and houseflies, but it's definitely a winner if you have a lot of very small insects giving you grief in the summer.

BLACK+DECKER Electric Bug Zapper & Fly Trap en – UV Insect Killer for Indoor/Outdoor
I’m honestly impressed with this BLACK+DECKER bug zapper. The UV light attracts flies, gnats, and other flying insects quickly, and the electric grid eliminates them fast without any chemicals or strong odors. I love that it works both indoors and outdoors, making it perfect for my patio, garden, or even inside the house when bugs get annoying. The 2-acre coverage is a big plus — it reaches a much larger area than most bug zappers I’ve tried before. It also comes with a hanging chain so I can place it wherever I need it, and the bottom tray is easy to remove and clean. The device feels sturdy and built for long-term use. While no zapper gets every mosquito, this one definitely reduces the number of bugs around and makes outdoor evenings much more comfortable. Overall, it’s an effective, durable, and reliable insect controller that really helps keep my home and patio bug-free.

Seller and item poor quality
When I first purchased this item I read the reviews like a I always do, outweighing the good and bad. I never write reviews on products but when you’re spending this kind of money and what I had to go through this review is worth writing. One of my bulbs quit within the first 3 weeks of operating. By time I went onto my Amazon app I was 1 day shy of the Amazon refund date. So I contacted the seller they were no help and told me to contact black and decker . I contacted black and deck that referred to me after two days to their “special” team called Umba. I proceeded conversation with them for two days until they told me because I’m not in the US I had to go back to Amazon customer support. Went to customer support which then had to contact the seller. The seller approved the return but i have to pay the fees for shipping the product back!!! I was so fed up with being tossed around so much i thought none of this is worth it and horrible customer service in all ends. Not to mention I'm sitting here with a product that only worked for 3 weeks! STAY AWAY from product and this Seller!
