what is the diameter of the ceiling , i am looking for no more than 4 in

Thank you for your question. The diameter of the ceiling rose/base is approximately 11.5cm

can the arm be twisted the other way around so the bulb pointing down instead?

I wouldn’t have thought that the arm could be twisted downwards because you risk breaking the wiring inside and therefore making the light fitting unsafe!!

Can the chain be shortened and what would be the shortest overall height, sold as 72 cm

Hi yes you can shorten the chain I just left mine and it drapes a little which gives it a rustic look that I like, but you would have no problem cutting it, as to overall height, you could do away with the chain completely then I estimate it would be 45 - 50cm I can't be absolutely sure as it's up on my ceiling, I have three of these and they do look great,

is it double insulted

Hello, thanks for your question. This item is not double insulated.
