Dr. Dre's iconic debut album, The Chronic, was originally released in 1992 and became the blueprint for West Coast hip hop. The triple-platinum album features the hits "Nuthin' But A `G' Thang," "F*ck Wit Dre Day (And Everybody's Celebratin')," and "Let Me Ride." Review: 30th Anniversary Reissue A Great Addition To My Collection - Growing up in Flint, Michigan, I was aware of N.W.A., LL Cool J, Geto Boys, and other associated rap and hip-hop groups. For whatever reason, when I heard "The Chronic" for the first time in the spring of 1993, it was akin to hearing Nirvana for the first time in 1992. There was something different and special about it. This album was the first CD I ever purchased, so I've been wanting to get it on vinyl for quite a while now. This 2023 reissue sounds great on my turntable. Since it's a double LP, you get between 3 and 5 tracks on each side as opposed to the original 1992 release, where you had seven on Side A and nine on Side B. I prefer more tracks on each side, but the sound quality makes up for it. There are some interesting characteristics on the insert that stand out, most noticeably the Executive Producer credit assigned to Suge Knight. Oh, despite having a parental advisory sticker on the front, the song titles that contain expletives are censored with dashes on both the album jacket and the LP. "The Chronic" stands as one of the Top 10 defining albums of my youth. It's a record I can put on and listen from start to finish every time. "Nuthin' But A G Thang" is the standout track for sure but it's surrounded by carefully produced songs that make the album an all-time classic. Review: One of the GOATS... - Arguably the best rap album of the 90s, thus one of the best of all time.

I Own The Chronic, 34 Years Later!
So 34 years later I finally own this album, I listened to tracks back in the days. People I hanged around with, listened to rap, so I got hooked also. Another reason I purchased the cd, AutoRip was included. Last car I owned didn’t even have a cd player, the car I drive now, no cd player. Hopefully one day I get a car with a cd player. This album is like MJ’s Thriller, Metallica’s black album. Multi platinum, not exactly sure, but with today’s rap scene, this stands the test of time. Highly recommended for rap aficionados, and people who appreciate good music.
