Do Not Recommend Purchasing
I purchased the Lexibook Chessman® FX Electronic Chess Game twice, and both experiences were disappointing. The first unit arrived looking used, setup was difficult, and the moves were not recognized. After struggling to get it working, I ended up returning it and requesting a replacement.Unfortunately, the second unit was no better. It also appeared used; the instructions were unclear and hard to follow, and once again, the moves were not recognized. We were never able to get a game started. Based on both attempts, I would strongly advise against purchasing this item.

It's a very nice chessboard. However, parts of it feel cheap.
The Lexibook brand seemed to be a very nice one to get a chess board from. This chess board functions great! I especially like the fact that it has red lights under each square. All the functions of this board are amazing! However, the pieces are small and feel very cheap. I looked over a review saying this, but I didn't believe it. Be warned! The pieces also slide very easily, so unless you're playing this on a table, they won't stay still. I had gotten it with the intention of being able to place it on my lap and play on a couch but the pieces slide too easily. The instruction manual was very clear, and I was able to understand most of the major functions of the board. The tray that holds the pieces was a very nice feature, however, it feels like really cheap plastic and the tray can give you trouble. It came out a couple times. I eventually returned this item for a magnetic one. Overall, Likes: Function, modes, lights, and intelligence. Dislikes: Small, cheap, non-magnetic pieces and flimsy tray.

Bad quality
This was horrible returned to immediately not worth your money. Very flimsy pieces. Slid all over the board. Little complicated for my dad to use.
