Are these just the thickness of a towel?

I would say they are about double the thickness of an ordinary towel and very densely woven, too. At least 5 mm thick. Lovely to stand on, but you couldn't dry yourself on them if you wanted dual-purpose. We love them, so absorbent, no mess on the floor of our new shower room. Recommended.

No. These mats are for placing on the floor outside the shower cubicle to catch drips when drying oneself, not for standing on in the shower.

Do these shed a lot of lint?

I have the white variant of these bath mats and they haven't shown any signs of shedding lint at all and indeed are very good quality all round.

yes, have been machine washed several times and with other clothes too. they are fine. great towels, very pleased
