U.S. Pool Supply Pool Skimmer - Above Ground Pool Skimmer, Floating Pool Surface Skimmer, Pool Accessories - Clean Debris Basket, Wall Mount, Attaches to Inflatable Collars, Tubular and Metal Frames

My Costco Bestway pool did not come equipped with a surface skimmer. After an entire season of manual skimming I thought I would try this little retrofit skimmer. WOW! Yes, its a little finicky. Yes, it's not the sturdiest piece of equipment, but once I got it dialed in, in only a couple of hours it had skimmed every last bit of floating debris, bugs and all, off of the surface of my pool. Instructions a little lacking (as usual), but somewhat helpful. Comes with three mounting brackets so you have to determine which one works best for your pool (I have a tubular frame). Seems to be more stable at the higher end of the mount, so I adjusted my pool fill level accordingly. Yes, I had to block the second filter inlet to get enough suction to make the thing work effectively (used an inlet plug that came with the pool). But it looks like I won't have to do much if any manual skimming from here on out. Pretty good for under thirty bucks.

Definitely worth the money! Make sure you get the filter socks sold by the same seller to pick up all the small particles in the pool as well. The basket works well for larger stuff like leaves, but not the tiny bugs or the dirt. See picture of the filter sock at work. Super easy to set up and use. I would suggest if your pool has two filter inputs, that you only use one.

Works good but if water level gets below top it makes a loud sucking sound because it’s trying to get enough water. Maybe holes in bottom are too small.

This went way too deep into the pool without any room for adjustment. This place took dam good care of me. They didn't charge me or ask me to send the other one back and sent me a different one that fits perfect. I was real pleased .I spent about 30 dollars in Clamps and brackets to bring it up higher and it was better but I just didn't feel comfortable about it. The new one fits so good. Thank you soooo much. I don't know why anyone would give bad reviews when they take care of there customers the way they took care of me!

This thing is a PIECE OF TRASH! the clamp that comes with it will NOT work on a newer metal frame pool first off without adding angled blocks of wood or something because the brackets are shaped very dumb. NOBODY makes a metal frame pool where the top ring bar that goes around is shaped like a diamond... ABSOLUTELY NO ONE.. and that is the only shape they would securely clamp to. So if your top rail is a an isosceles triangle with rounded corners and the large angle facing down like mine... the bottom of the canaster will NOT be pointing straight down when clamped.. it will be sticking inward 2 ft from the side of the pool and pointing to the middle of the pool. NEXT STUPID DESIGN.....the kit does not come with any right angle adapter whatsoever...so the hose that connects to the bottom you have the choice of just long and flopping around or pulling it tighter and it also making the canister pull to the side as well. NEXT STUPID DESIGN.... the part that appears to be designed to keep the basket from floating out ALSO F#&#*@ing FLOATS! so nothing can go over the top of it and INTO THE DAMN BASKET. it just sucks stuffaround the outside of the basket and straight into the hose on the bottom completely not capturing ANYTHING INSIDE THE BASKET...

It hangs on the side of my pool just fine (I have a large oval shaped metal framed pool) and the height is easily adjustable. It was pretty easy to install, just plug the hose into my pump inlet inside the pool, hang it on the side of the pool and voila! Therein lies the rub - I have a large pool, with two intakes. The skimmer has too much restriction, so the pump just draws water from the other intake, so there's just not enough water flow through the skimmer to make it work. When I do block the other inlet, it will work well enough, though it doesn't seem to move a whole ton of water over the top of the basket. The gap between the floating portion and the housing is a little to large and it tends to pull water in around the sides of the basket under the floating lip, which reduces efficiency. I think this works better with a smaller pool, one that only has a single inlet.

I have a 18-ft pole within an hour all of the small debris that was on top of the water was gone. I would recommend this for any pool. Instructions were too small for me to read but easy to assemble

Works great, specifically with the Bestway above ground pool that has DIAMOND shaped bars as the top ring. I have two inlets and an upgraded 3,000GPH pump, surface was crystal clear overnight and we get tons of bugs around this time of year. The basket is a little small, but I imagine that helps with more suction power as opposed to other brands that I have ordered over the years of "above ground pooling". Super easy setup if you've dealt with these skimmers before and it comes with several adapters to swap things out if necessary. Some people mentioned it floating up, yes this will happen if you don't CRANK down the screws that hold it in place and make sure the hose is clear of any air. I highly recommend and the price wasn't bad at all!

After 10mins of the installation, the surface of the pool was clean. Remember to keep it clean before you swim or the collected debris will flow out.

There is no pump, u need your own. I added it to my system, and omg, this is the best money I spent. No more skimming with the pole. This takes all the crap off the top of the pool nicely. The floating ring seams like it’s not working, but when watch close, it skims the top of the pool.
