I think my current skimmer is an Aqua Leader ALS-500_525. The housing has cracked so I need to replace it. Will this one fit?

I am not a pool guy, I am just a regular guy but mine was an unknown name wide-mouth and it also cracked. I checked with 2 different pool supply places close to me and was told that the wide-mouth skimmer size should be the same. The Hayward worked and the holes lined up exactly. This skimmer is much nicer than the old one, hope it lasts longer. I hope this helps anyone wondering.

I measured our skimmer and inside opening is 12 by 5 1/2, outside it is 13 3/4 by 71/2, 18 screws. Would this fit?

yes it has a universal type gasket... mine is about the same size worked fine for me

What size is the opening on the inside? Just need to replace the part that holds basket if I can get away with it.

If you already have a widemouth opening, just order this. It comes with the gasket for the widemouth part, as well as the part that holds the basket. You will need to take if all off to replace it anyways. If you had a problem with that part cracking, you'll most likely want to replace it all, so that the widemouth part doesn't crack when you are removing the screws.

Do i need a wide mouth are what

Its all preference. Its basically the same skimmer, just larger opening in the front.
