Marked improvement over the original Sega 6-button pad
This is what I've always wanted from a Genesis/Mega Drive controller. The original six button controller was a little too small for my tastes, but the Big6 is the same size as the original controller, which also felt more ergonomic than the original sixer. Button quality is pretty close to the originals, if not a little more stiff (though of course that might be due to age), and the d-pad works well for fighting game special inputs. Overall a great controller for the Genesis

Sega Genesis Controller
It feels like a an original controller with a extra button. So far the "mode" button hasn't done anything. The length of the cord is long enough to reach my couch. For $16 this is a deal.

Nostalgic Feeling, No Frills Gamepad.
If all I was looking for was a gamepad that felt exactly like my original Sega Genesis controller from 1990, but with three extra buttons, then I would give this five stars. Unfortunately, I had to detract a star because these gamepads have exactly zero frills. The Price is Right because they do feel like first party controllers, but the lack of features makes them seem outdated.

My new favorite Genesis controller
I have an extensive Genesis collection with games of all kinds, and I put this controller through the paces. It feels just right, from the quality of the plastic to the press of the buttons and the give of the D-pad. I love the classic 3 button shape, and this nails that to a T. At first I thought the three main face buttons sat kind of low on the controller, but having used it for a while, it's clear they went for equity of placement for all six buttons, and not just prioritize A, B, and C as the "main" buttons, with X, Y, and Z as secondary. The size of the buttons kind of does that already, no need to shove them up and out of the way. This is minutiae though, honestly. This is a great controller, the cord is especially nice in both flexibility and length, and I've got no complaints about it thus far.

Broke in half a year
I bought this control in April. I didn’t use it a ton. It’s now December and it doesn’t work at all. I’m planning on reaching out to the manufacturer to see if they’ll send me a new one or give me some ideas on how to repair.

Six button glory in big pad form.
I've looked at this controller for a while and had it on my wish list. Hooked up my old Sega Genesis once again and though I always love the classic three button large controller design. There's just enough games out there that need the extra three top buttons. I have the original six button controller from Sega but I like the idea of having the big fat pad design. Yet with all the extra buttons. This one here provides that all in one great package. The controller feels pretty close to the original. Maybe a little bit lighter, but the d-pad is really strong and that is one of the most important parts. Now the main buttons are a little bit lower than the original model. But that is just so you can fit the top three of X, Y, and Z in. I got really used to it after only just a little bit of gameplay. And it felt totally right. Literally blends the best of both worlds of the Sega big three pad and the Sega six button one. There is only one small minor thing that I wished was different. This doesn't take away from the overall rating of the controller. But the start button, is just a little tiny almost blended in button. Instead of being the larger gray one that we are all used to from the original controller. I just wish this one had that same or at least very similar gray larger start button. At least it only is the start button, so it's not the end of the world. Just something you got to get kind of used to if you've been gaming since the 90s. And, if you were wondering it also has the mode button on there for those handful of games that don't recognize the normal six button controller. If you need to have the classic Sega experience with the large pad yet you want all the buttons that you need. Look no further. The controller is also about twice as long in cable length from the original. If you're one of those people that sits far from the TV. And for the price, it really can't be beat.

Perfect at first; Learned it was fragile the hard way
The box it comes in is a cool throwback and I appreciate that SEGA has licensed official Genesis controllers for today's market. I wish that this controller only had 3 buttons though like the true original. There is no response delay, the buttons are not mushy, the D-Pad directions all feel solid. My problem is this thing was working perfectly for like 2 weeks until I accidentally tripped over the cable one day, pulling it off of my table causing it to fall about 2-3 feet. This immediately busted the controller and it no longer works at all, none of the buttons make any input on any games. Very disheartening to have a product stop working Just Like That. Super Fragile. I already went and ordered some actual 1650 90's Genesis controllers because based on my personal experience & other reviews for this product, I don't trust the Quality Control of these. Plus I dislike the 6 button layout on the big style controller anyways.

I like this controller very much. Works great with mega sg console. Comfy to hold onto like the old bean controller. In a perfect world, for me, it would be an 8 foot long cord on this and they would have retained the old style "start" button. Worth a buy.

I bought this and the cheaper option, and it's night and day - the cheaper option is for the kids, this one is a bit more expensive but a lot better. The D-pad and buttons are great, and the pad is a decent size with an 8ft cable.

Great controller. The classic shape with 6 buttons is perfect for my huge hands. Only gripe I have is the strange placement of the start button, it's really difficult to feel where it is during gameplay. They feel very durable and I hope to have many years of use. I have tried them with original Mega Drive and my Retron consoles and the work with no issues. I can pull off special moves in fighters like a pro.
