Found it at last!
I first tried Prawn Balichow many years ago and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, once I'd finished that jar, I was unable to find any more. Until now! It adds quite a kick to dishes and also sandwiches. I'll buy more when this jar is empty.

Lovely Pickle
Have waited for this for a long time__ couldn't find any in UK till a friend suggested the internet. Came sooner than expected, very well packed and reasonably priced. Only reservation: could the makers have included more of the fish ingredients than suggested by the word "flavoured". . . ? this might make it tastier and more like the original homecooked version. . .? Can be used as a pickle, and added to curries or smoked salmon sandwiches, etc. Quite versatile.

Ferns Prawn Flavoured Balichow
This product is excellent - delivered promptly, and well packaged. Superb product. It compares very favourably with Patak's Prawn Balichow which I used to buy frequently, but we are now unable to purchase that product because the makers Patak's no longer produce that product.

not the same as I used to get in the 80's but makes a good starter dish
not what I was expecting, during the 80's I used to buy a prawn Balichow that was more of a thick paste/pickle, not at all like this one in taste or texture, I was so looking forward to a cheese and balichow sandwich once again.....this product is not able to help me relive a treat I have not had for years , but if you follow the instructions on the jar it does make a damned fine starter dish for a curry night.

Poor flavour
Poor flavour, lacking any prawn taste. Not a patch on the one Pataks used to make, I miss it a lot, and quite expensive.
