Why does it state rechargeable then show batteries on photo

Unfortunately, it is NOT rechargeable. You need 2 x AA batteries. I suggest the reference to rechargeable is an error. Hope this helps.

it is a decent shaver but it's like most shavers and will not do a very good job of the neck.

Does the Panasonic es-rs10 cause soreness or razor rash and does the silver paint wear off or mark easily?

Mine still looks like new. As for razor rash, this is probably something that varies from person to person. I haven't had any issues but then again I haven't had a problem with any other shaver. Overall it is possibly the best shaver I have owned.
