Are the dimensions the internal size or the outside dimensions in which case I have to subtract 1 mm to allow for the thickness ?

It is rather hard to say. The cases are made of a neoprene material similar to wet suits - so they are quite stretchy - but also difficult to measure accurately. Because they are stretchy, the 1mm is not likely to make a difference - but remember, the lenses should not be a snug fit anyway.

I use them with normal belts and my across body belt used for holding My two cameras when working, so I don't see why wouldn't work with this. They clip onto whatever your using.

Has anyone found these too wide for their lenses? Mine aren’t snug at all

Mine are fine, but I do have full frame cameras which do use bulky lenses Lens shouldn't be too snug in bag otherwise protection is reduced.

No you will have to by the set, they are superb but sizes are not what you expect the medium ones take a 50mm easily the largest one will take 55-250mm, - small ones just takes my memory card reader with usb attachment
