Elegant and charming
Gorgeous pen. Using Hongdian Black ink on leuchturm1917 paper, the flow is really good with zero bleed or ghosting. Writing anything is effortless. The pen has a heft to it that gives it that heirloom quality feel. If you handed this pen to someone they would immediately know they are holding something special. That said, this is my first and only fountain pen so far. I cant comment on the quality of the nib, but it feels very nice... its smooth yet not so smooth you dont feel the paper, however, you can let it glide with only the weight of the pen itself and a generous amount of ink will come out (almost too much for a beginner like me, might have been wiser to buy a finer nib) but learning to control it is part of the deal. I'm VERY happy with the purchase... frankly I dont see how it could get much better than this, even having seen reviews on the high-end 149, pelikan, sailor etc. This just feels super premium and everytime I see it I wanna pick it up, and everytime I pick it up I wanna write with it. Would recommend.

Truly a work of art
This fountain pen is absolutely gorgeous. It cannot post so if you have large hands that may be a problem. For me the size is perfect writing un posted. This pen writes very wet which is a good thing. The extra fine nib is very smooth and it is one of my favorite writing instruments. The engraving on this pen really stands out, it is one of the best looking pens that I own. The included converter is easy to fill from an ink bottle, I use pilot blue black in mine and have had no issues at all. The cap seals very well, I can go at least a week or two without writing, and have had no hard starts at all. It was ready to write every time I took the cap off.

My favorite nib
After using this pen for a little over a month pretty consistently, I'm confident in saying that it is one of the best pens I have. First I'll start with the 2 pain points and both are the cap. The first is I don't particularly love screw on caps however, I recognize the necessity for keeping a pen from drying out as quickly. This cap is a screw cap and it does not post well. I am the type of person that needs a pen to post otherwise it feels weird in my hand unless it is an extremely long or back heavy pen and this pen is neither of those things. It is fairly short and lightweight. The second issue I have with the cap is that it doesn't seem to seal as well as some of my others. This pen dries out much faster than some of my other pens. So after having reinked it twice completely full, I have taken to leaving it filled halfway unless I plan on doing a lot of writing with it in the coming days. I could probably resolve this issue by putting a little silicone grease in the threads of the cap, but I'd rather not get the barrel covered in grease. Other than the cap being less than ideal. This pen is perfect in every other way. The grip is very comfortable. The ink flows beautifully, and this nib is probably the best nib I've used for my style of writing. I use heavy shimmering and high sheening inks, and this parent has never had a problem with either. It never has a problem hard starting unless I leave the cap off for more than ten minutes. The line variation that this nib allows for is beyond compare the amount of flexibility. It lends to writing is incredible, and if you cannot afford to have an architect nib ground for you this is an excellent option. The only other con I have is really more of a preference. And that is that the design on the barrel and cap does not stand out as much as it does in the pictures Regardless, this pen is beautiful. I plan on buying others just so I can have more with this style of nib.

Well made pen writes beautifully!
The pens craftmanship is stunning and it has a good weight not heavy but not feather light. I love the design so much I bought one in blue as well! Now onto performance, I had some trouble with filling it with ink the first time. (I am not removing a star unless itโs a continuous issue) I watched the video followed it exactly and nothing came up I did it again much slower and got ink splatter and bubbles. I dipped the pen even deeper in the ink and got some more ink but again not a lot. I finally dipped the entire nib into the inkwell and twisted the plunger excruciatingly slowly and after about 45 seconds of very very carefully twisting I had a full pen! Hopefully that was a first fill hiccups and it will be easier in the future. Once I got it filled and put pen to paper I was in love! I got the extra fine nib and itโs perfect! It is very smooth not at all scratchy and ink flows very well and doesnt start or stop. All in all for the price an excellent pen!

Love at first write!
I love that you can feel the texture of the engraved design! The long blade nib is also really fun to play around with. It's one of my few pens that has worked right out of the box. It's affordable and unique, yet it screams cultured and classy. Will probably buy one in another color someday.

Scratchy Nib
I love the weight of the pen and itโs beautiful but the nib I received is so scratchy. It tore into my paper. Iโm not sure if itโs because the nib is defective. My pen also didnโt come with a tin. The ink also flowed inconsistently which lead to skips and blots on my pages.

Absolutely top tier for the price! Get it!
I saw this pen some time ago, and didn't realize it had a bunny rabbit engraved into the nib. I had to get it just for the bunnies when I discovered this. My first pen was a Black Forest, my second was an Asvine v126, and now this. I love my v126, but THIS just took first place for me. This thing is NICE. The converter is way better than any pens I've seen on the market. THIS HAS AN EBONITE FEED!!!!!!! My jaw dropped when I opened the pen and saw that! I inked it up with a sample of Private Reserve Avocado I got as part of a mystery 5 pack from Goulet Pens. This pen writes beautifully well- VERY smooth for an EF! I tried to write as fast as I could with it and got out over a half page at lightning speed with zero skips or hard starts. It's both smooth and responsive. I could use this to sketch or write and be perfectly happy with both. OH--- another detail I should add is when I went to clean my pen before using it, I realized they did in fact ink it up and test it before shipping. I love that they did that. What a wonderful company. Love you, Hong Dian! Can't wait to get the Dynasty pen soon!

I wanted to love this.
I really had higher hopes for this pen, but it just....does not write well or smoothly. It's very scratchy, the ink flows very unevenly and poorly. In the interest of fairness I did try this pen with a few different inks, on different qualities and types of paper, against similar priced pens I own. I tried checking videos to see if this was somehow user error in filling this specific pen/converter style. As far as I can tell, no, the ink just barely flows. It's possible I received a defective pen, but I can't even really use it. I'm torn - it's aesthetically very pretty, and I'd love to keep it if the nib even wrote consistently WITH the scratchiness, but I'm likely going to return it. The barrel and cap were very well made, though. The rabbit engravings were nice and didn't have any dust etc. It was a nice weight both posted and unposted. It was shipped/packaged nicely. It was shockingly easy to clean and change inks. I can tell care was put into this pen, I just wish it wrote well enough to justify the price/keeping it in my collection. Update: I got a replacement and can firmly say: this is a low quality pen. The nib on the second one was much better (did not scratch or damage the paper) but still almost unusable due to inkflow issues. I also agree with the previous reviewer, this pen is extremely plasticky feeling.

Good purchase
Very nice pen. Attractive and writes well. I ordered an EF nib and it is on the wide side for EF but that does depend a lot on the brand or make of the pen. I just mention it in case you are trying to decide between M,F and EF for your purchase. Pen will reverse write well also.
